Planned on ordering through Apple until I realized they only ship to billing address and it wouldn't let me change my mother's address. AT&T allowed me to change shipping address, so they won my preorder.
I always ordered from Apple. This year I went with whatever store let me in first. I was quite surprised when the MyATT app assigned me a que at 11:50 pm pst, and let me in. Purchase at 11:55. Done at 11:58. Unfortunately, getting in early didn't do me any good at all. I've seen people post that they ordered the same phone as I did hours later and got the same shipping estimate dates. I've said this a few times in here, I'll not order from a carrier again. Since they don't make any profit whatsoever on the direct sale of these phones to customers, they don't seem in any hurry to contact customers with shipping updates like Apple does. I'll order from Apple next year if the 10th anniversary iPhone is everything I hope it will be (I have my doubts as Apple continues to underwhelm with actual product launches IMO).

Bedtime for me one AHS is done. Hopefully my husbands phone gets a tracking number overnight. iPhone 7 plus matte black 32gb. EstimaRed shipping Sept 30- oct 7

iPhone 7 plus matte black 128 GB ordered 9/9 20 minutes after launch. Just swapped
Over today to saying "backordered" instead of preparing to ship. Sigh. :/

I've been doing this every year since 2009. Last year many people had dates a week or so off from launch date, and got emails at the 11th hour.... and some got it the next Monday. I'm pretty sure that most people with 9/23 - 9/30 will get their phones. Last year I ordered on the apple site, this year att because att came up quicker for me. Although I had to order 5 times due to website errors... that's why my time is so late. Another note, the first 4 tax authorizations fell off my credit card, the final one has not. Not sure if that means anything, but it's some more info.
Yeah, I'll be going back to Apple for my next update. As you, I only ordered from ATT bcause they let me in first. Not
UPS flight from Louisville into Dallas just landed 7 minutes ago!!
i know my Matte 256 + is on that flight, I just KNOW IT!!!111!!!&$$?!!

I ordered the same phone and it went through about 2:58AM EST - had the same 9/30 - 10/7 estimate.

Got my shipping confirmation this morning - it's coming on launch day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your husband!

My order shipped and I have a tracking number. Looks like my iphone 7 matte black in 128 will arrive on Friday. I went into the store and ported my number from verizon over and then bought a new phone around noon central on Friday.

7+ Matte 128 when from preparing for shipment to back ordered sometime this afternoon. I'm going to assume that's a good thing.

Probably not a good thing... also same for me. Order went through at 0309 ET, yet doesn't look like a release day iPhone for me. Lame AT&T, totally lame.

Relax brother, I'm sure we will get emails by tomorrow. Aside, I'm with you. Ordering apple direct is way better. You can do the ref number search and see it coming from China way ahead of time.

Just ups...att delivers fedex here, does that make a difference
I think it's safe to assume that Apple, the origin point of all iPhones, has likely bought serious capacity from the major logistics carriers, and hence many FedEx and UPS (and/or others) planes are on constant usage sorties for the orders.

They will all be coming from China. It's simply a matter of when.

Mine:
2 IP7+ MB 256GB 9/23 - 9/30

7 ups planes are due to land tonight so does that mean my phone could be on there even if it comes to my door fedex
[doublepost=1473908095][/doublepost]Now people's are starting to say back ordered ???
