I ordered the 7+ Matte black 128 gig at 11:46 PST- yesterday it went into backorder status with the shipping date of 9/23 to 9/30 this afternoon around 3 PM Pacific time I got the email saying that it shipped with the tracking number delivery tomorrow so don't lose hope

Congrats!! I'm still hoping for some word soon!! My order went through a minute after yours! Thank you for giving me more hope! :)

Had an interesting convo with an AT&T chat rep just now. I realize they're hardly reliable, but thought I'd share anyway.. He seemed quite confident that every order would be filled and the shipments would be received well before their initial ship dates, not necessarily tomorrow (today), but sooner than was originally stated. He knew for certain that all dates get padded for situations such as this (it would've been a much bigger issue to promise launch day to everyone who got their order in in the first 15-20 minutes of preorders). I also asked him what the deal was with the system seemingly not being a first come, first serve process. He stated that it absolutely is a first come, first serve process and the website's system simply puts each order in the order in which its received to be shipped.. He tried to describe that with the overwhelming traffic of the preorder, it could've stalled out for some people causing your order to slowly reach the "virtual line" and actually was "pushed out and back farther in line, despite the fact that you were actually in early.." Which to me proves its not exactly first come, first serve and pretty glitchy. So yeah, if you haven't heard anything yet, don't count on tomorrow, but there's hope yet to have our shipments in a few short (who am I kidding? LONG!) days!

*EDIT*
He also told me that "Preparing to ship" means there's a phone assigned to you and it's waiting to be shipped out.. Again, sort of makes sense, but not really because the majority of us have had that status and a lot of us still haven't shipped soo.. Just another vague conversation with AT&T Chat.

Checked my order status on my 128 matte black plus and under tracking number it says "pending shipment" does that mean it just hasn't boarded the vehicle yet? I live in CA so if it's shipping from Texas it's only about a three hour flight, should be more than enough time to get it here.

How lame are these guys? It's first come, first served unless the system F's up and throws your early preorder out and at the back of the line which seemed to be the rule, not the exception. Just lovely. This company has hit new lows in customer experience and service.

Still waiting on my 256 matte black 7+ to ship... I figured it would have shipped by now or I won't be getting it by launch day. And I ordered

now my delivery date does say 9/23-9/30 so it's not like it ever said I'd get launch day in the first place, but I figured ordering this early would help my chances. If I would have known staying up all night last week to order at 3am meant I would get it a week later while people that ordered the next day would get theirs on launch day, I wouldn't have bothered. But whatever I guess.

I'm waiting from Cali too, 1 plane came to Ontario around 9:45 PM

I haven't seen any shipments of that configuration. Whether ordered 2:55am on 9/9 (me), or anytime after that.

Happy for you. Enjoy your launch day phone. Incredible that people ordered the same phone hours before and have heard nothing. Lamest preorder ever.
Yeah I wasn't expecting to get it for like a week or 2 , to mean it's not really fair but , hope everyone gets their phones in a decent time, good luck guys goodnight

Yep this is exactly what happened with orders before 12AM. The system didn't know what to do with preorders before 12AM. I bet the engineers didn't anticipate orders rolling in before 12AM

Well that just doesn't seem very fair at all.

I really hope that "delay beyond our control" doesn't ruin my scheduled delivery for today.... oh boy : |

You know, I keep hearing this about AT&T. Obviously SOMEBODY in IT decided to take the site live before midnight, but if you ask them, they are clueless. Some idiot made a HUGE error and tens of thousands of customers who stayed up very very late to preorder, get screwed. I also had a CS Supervisor FINALLY admit that AT&T didn't have scheduled maintenance during preorder, their servers went down. They were told to say it was scheduled maintenance (right, they,re going to schedule routine maintenance during their biggest sales night of the year. Idiots either way). Have they not done this before? Do they not prepare their servers for possible overload situations with extra backups? Apple does. Apple screwed up their IUP program, but then immediately made it right. AT&T finds no reason to fix anything. They simply don't care. I'm sure we'll all get the typical "we are so sorry we totally F'd up your iPhone order, (of course, it wasn't our fault, it was Apple). As I've been saying, never again. A hard lessened learned. AT&T is not a customer-centric company.

Ordered a 128 7 Plus Silver on 9/9 at 12:53 am.
Got a message that it shipped today with UPS at 11am with a delivery date of 9/16.

Up until that message my order still said "Processing". I was never charged and I still haven't been charged.

I am wondering if when your account states that it shipped, it's when it hits a certain point in shipping, and possibly AT&T's systems are all like "If a shipping label has been made, don't tell them it shipped yet, but tell them it shipped as soon as it hits a distribution point" I saw the http://flightaware.com/live/iphone tracker, and it looks like they're all going to Louisville. I haven't seen anything about Chicago, or Illinois yet, so I am just wondering if there is still hope...

Although, it's 1:26 AM right now, and I may be delusional, still, but it's worth a thought.
