Carrier iPhone 7/7+ AT&T Pre-Order Thread

Good News from Central California! Here's how random the ordering system is with AT&T:

Ordered on 9/9 at 3:03pm Pacific Time (yes, that's 3 in the afternoon), 7 Plus Gold 128gb, delivery dates 10/7-10/14. (I like the MB but prefer the white face).

Confirmation email said "In Process", which never changed all week. Last night I called *6732# for the first time and it replied by text saying backordered. This morning at 5:55am I get a text saying it shipped by FedEx, delivery will be Monday. I've had 4 texts and emails from AT&T but no word from FedEx Delivery Manager, so not sure how effective it is to sign up for that.

So basically the delivery dates are totally random and have no connection to when it will actually ship. I was prepared to wait a few weeks and now it will be here 1 delivery day after launch. Hang in there folks, it's all a big game.

I like it! It's much heavier than I anticipated. Well I want to wish everyone good luck! I repeat. The FedEx guy dropped off my neighbor's Matte Black 128 GB and his status never updated, still says "Preparing to Ship" with a shipping estimate in October. So I hope a couple of you get a nice surprise today!! It's been great this entire week chatting as we all wait for our phones. I'm going to set mine up and stuff now. This is my first iphone!

I just thought about something, I have no idea if my neighbors ordered through Apple.com or through a carrier site, so I guess it's irrelevant that my neighbor received his Matte Black 128 GB. He could have ordered directly through Apple for all I know. I should have asked while we were all down in the lobby. Dang.

I live on the first floor so I was the first to greet the FedEx guy, so I was there when he had the front desk guy call the other neighbors down to come sign. (there were 5 of us lucky enough to have gotten our phones today. All Pluses). When he got down there he was surprised cause he said his estimated ship date was October and his status still says preparing to ship. I figured I'd come let you guys know that there does seem to be some hope that some of you will get Matte Blacks and perhaps the status has just not caught up for everyone.

That's awesome! Yeah it's so weird, I preordered my iPhone on Wednesday and it shipped out yesterday. My wife's iPhone was preordered on on Saturday and it still says backordered. Hopefully she gets a surprise today!!

my black 128 that's out for delivery also said backordered when i used *6732# a couple days ago. this was before i got a tracking number. if people are getting that message, it should be a good sign.

for my jb 7 (eta 10/14-10/21) the message still says "in progress".

Well I cancelled my iPhone 7 Plus Jet Black and went into the Apple Store and got the Rose Gold iPhone 7 128GB. I thought I'd hate the size, but it's actually not bad.

Color me skeptical. Especially since we've already received our morning fedex order here at the office and the phone wasn't one of the packages.

I've never had any issue ordering through Apple, and I would have done so this time if their damn website had been working for me. But I got impatient and ordered directly through At&t, and I regret that. Buncha morons. I will be incredibly surprised if the rose gold actually delivers today.

I ordered the same phone, 7 RG 128gb, and it is out for delivery today! Mine also had an original ship date of 9/16, with status "Preparing to ship" all week. Yesterday, status changes to "Processing," and when I called for a text status update, it showed backordered.
From browsing through all these posts over the course of the week, I've seen a pattern that the status updates are messed up probably due to an overloaded system. I've seen very few close to none with concerns for the same phone not being shipped, as it seems it's a "less popular" model with more in stock. I've also seen a post mentioning how FedEx might have "special trucks" for these deliveries since the number of deliveries has probably doubled to tripled from normal. So don't lose hope! I have confidence you WILL get your RG phone today! Sadly it looks like just about all 7+ Jet/Matte Blacks are on backorder nationwide.
 
AT&T store rep tells me that this is the worse launch that they have experienced.

AT&T may find themselves in trouble with shipping phones and people not knowing their phones have been shipped and don't have the tracking numbers.

I wanted to, trust me, but it is too early in the school year to have the teachers already questioning my parenting. Lol
Side not: not at all happy about the condition of my box. WTH FedEx?
