It's time for me to leave the forum, I reserved 7+ 256gb MB at an Apple Store and left with it 20 min ago. I was able to choose att next with no problems, didn't get any kickback from the sales guy. As they brought the phone out I cancelled my online order of 7+ 128gb MB on 9/9 and 5:20am est. like many of you I've had no updates at all. Just wanted to say thank you to all in this forum, you all have been extremely helpful and informational! I hope you all receive your phones soon and hey....see you all again this time next year!

No time to read back through posts, any good news/bad news from people who reserved a Verizon phone last night at the Apple store for ATT next? Gotta eat and then head up to pick up my wife's but its a bit of a drive so I'd prefer to make sure no one had problems.

Next time reserve it and PM me... if you don't want it, you can cancel the reservation and I'll try to grab it :)
Hey hey. Wait now....I'll raise that offer and say If you find two (in my backyard) let me know and I'll pick it up mine and yours and ship you yours no charge. (Will sort out all the other details.). o_O

Too funny.......

Oh yeah? If you find 2, I'll pay for your phone too. Now we're just getting desperate, lol

Yup, at the end of the day ATT is still within their shipping quotes for most of our orders. Its this thread thats poisoning :p everyones mind with the expectation of getting our phones earlier than what was originally quoted when we pressed the pre-order button. The saltiness started to pore everywhere when some people/trolls got earlier ship notifcations than others for the same device, and some of those people got a good nights sleep on the 9th and order hours later in the AM and have their phones now lol. Im just not going to sweat it, unless my phone slips out of the ship window and Im still somehow waiting for it. Still checking my status every hour though

^^This

I've done the early morning gig before and had too much stress due to the website not being able to handle the traffic. Last year I ordered about 8am and got it a few days after launch.

This year I was contemplating a switch to Verizon so I didn't order right away, finally decided to stick with at&t so ordered two around noon CDT on Saturday 9/10. One was for a port 128gb plus MB and one as an upgrade 32gb Plus MB. Both got the 10/7-10/14 ship dates.

No phones as of yet.

So for those of you that feel the system failed, I can attest that in my case, I'm still waiting!

Like Mr Retina stated above, while there may be a few, I believe they are very few that jumped the line. And there's probably more to the story than has been told.

FWIW the phone ordered as a new line doesn't show as ordered until over two hours after the first, even though it was the first device ordered. I assume that was while they were communicating to the carrier to grab the line, but maybe there are other processes they do dependent on order type that seemingly gets orders out of order.

I like Nashville, travel a lot for work and been checking between Houston and Omaha... No luck.

Still waiting on my 128gb black matte plus. Ordered around 3:22 am like most and have my shipping window between 23-30.
I feel your pain- same with me around same time.

Has anyone kept track of how many jets have come from China? I looked into it quite an it today. Each plane can carry about 195,000 phones. Last year there were 13 to 15 million preorders during opening weekend. Apple isn't releasing their numbers but Verizon said they had almost 4x the preorders they had last year. If there were 15 million preorders that would be 77 jets from China. 20 million would be 102 jets. I'm guessing a decent amount of those were from countries besides the US, but haven't been able to find those numbers.

If we assume 15 million preorders, 10 planes a day would take over a week to get the first weekend of orders fulfilled.

I've been following this thread like most. Got nailed by the "site maintenance" 9/9 @ 3 am so my order did not go through until 4:18 for a 128 JB 7+. No updates, no anything. It was slated to ship Oct 14-21st. Reserved a phone last night via apple.com just after midnight and drove 100 miles today to pick it up. Cancelled my ATT order as soon as I had reserved it. Big shout out to those who suggested taking that route. I went with a matte black because the jet wasn't a must have for me.

The problem is, ATT had nearly zero phones actually available for shipping on preorder night. I ordered at 2:58 am EST which is a good 10 minutes before either Apple or VZW went live. Now, how could someone who ordered that early, while ATT was the only store live, and still not have a even a shipping notice 2 weeks later? Something went seriously wrong with this preorder from Apple to the carriers. I've had a preorder for every iPhone except the 6S (which was the first time I skipped a phone release, just can't justify a new phone every year. Not enough changes), and this BY FAR, is the worst I've ever experienced, and for a phone that supposedly most people didn't want. This was a complete debacle.

I've enjoyed the back and forth with all of you over the last 10 days. But I took the plunge, and cancelled both of our phones from AT&T (256GB 7+, JB & RG). After a few minutes, I re-ordered both from Apple (got MB for me instead of JB; worried about the scratching). Got a shipping window of 2-3 weeks (10/5-10/11) on both. I feel confident that they'll show up earlier than that. Still will probably beat AT&T. So dumb.

Really, 10/5 - 10/11 on both orders from Apple? I did the same as you but did it on Friday evening and got 10/11 - 10/17 for a 256 GB MB Plus. Hope this means Apple will be shipping mine a little sooner. Of course I'm gonna stalk the stock at local Apple stores and try to snag one even sooner.

Agree. If I had confidence that my 2 year old 6+ could last another year I would wait. But, I have never held a phone 3 years before. Oh well, I am sure by Halloween most of us will have phones. I won't be upgrading next year, just a mess.

Don't do it UNLESS you are willing to pay full pop. Several people reported that they couldn't do a Verizon iPhone on next.

So there's been like 5 people with shipping notifications today? Seems like none have come.

It's incredible that barely any JB iPhone + models have shipped. Apple must have not shipped much of this model on launch day and didn't anticipate the overwhelming demand.

I feel certain that they had a paltry number of the high demand phones ready to ship from China. They should have just given 2 weeks between preorder and shipping and plainly said that piano black devices would release in early October.

I have a friend who works for the main ups hub and apparently they've been trying to push the phones through. They're working doubles and whatnot, cops are hanging out with them, making sure no one steals. And she said her mom is planning the iPhone flights for North America and they don't have enough room on the planes. She said that might be part of the reason shipping is taking forever too.

I agree. I would be a lot less frustrated if Apple had just said up front "hey, here's a phone that we think is gorgeous enough to wait an extra two weeks for it". Instead of making a huge deal about a color they weren't prepared to ship.
Then we could have all decided whether we were willing to wait for it or not.
My daughter waited for FOUR MONTHS for her white 4. I don't have that kind of patience!

I just want to know if they are going to push the 256 Jet Black even later. If they are then I'm getting a different phone.

Agreed. I am still waiting on my 256GB black 7Plus. I was going to cancel and pick up from the Apple Store. I have 4 Apple stores less than an hour from me and none of them have a single black or plus model in stock. I am just going to stick it out and wait for my AT&T order with a 9/23-9/30 shipping estimate.
