The "Backorder" notice has worked its magic for me. Got the "Backorder" notice at about 8:30 this morning and just a few minutes ago I got my shipping notice.
All the particulars:
Silver 7+ 256 GB ordered 9/9/2016 @ 12:24:37.

I hear you. I'm waiting on 7 - 256GB JB + to ship. Ordered 9/9 between 3-5 am, all single orders. I have another 4 - 256GB MB +'s waiting also. We got 10 regular size 7's at launch and we just got in our first 7+ 128GB MB today that one switched to back order yesterday afternoon.

Other than that, the fact that we've gone since 2007 and this happens every time (and yet these places are all not only still in business, but as a shareholder in T and AAPL, I know they're doing very well) suggests that they do know what they're doing, and I, of course, was being sarcastic.
I don't expect to convince you, per se, otherwise, but I also know that if I'm promised shipping between 9/23-9/30, then I'm not going to go apoplectic until (as someone else said in this thread) 11:59pm 9/30 ET, and even then it's not worth busting a gasket. Instead, it's worth scoping out a resolution and/or plan of action.
giving it until midnight tonight and then I'm bailing on my 256 order and making due with reserving a 128. they seem to be floating around apple stores in my area. promised the buyer of my 6s that i would ship out friday latest (was expecting me to ship last friday). unreal that i ordered 3:18am eastern time and my phone is in limbo. as someone said before; i wouldn't care if every 256 was delayed for every customer but apple stores and other customers have had them all week. oh well
Wonder if me ordering through the business website had anything to do with it?? My company has many lines on our business account with AT&T..just an observation and wish you luck and speed getting yours
