In the reference area you put the first letter or your last name, the only other information you input is your zip code. The problem with this is that if someone else in your zip-code has the same letter and also has a package out you might be seeing their package.

When it changes to pending shipment, it means the order is processed and the only thing pending is to ship the product when it becomes available. For me it has been pending shipment since 9/9.

ATT lost a lot of future preorders with how they ran this one... The dates they gave were correct, if not early, but they DID NOT run it FIFO.

Apple will get my next preorder.

Hi my name is Mark and I'm addicted to order status checking. It's been six hours since the last time I checked my order status. It's a struggle every minute of every day to stop obsessing over my order, but seeing others that ordered way ahead of me that still haven't received theirs is giving me the strength to stop checking. These last six hours have been hell though!

Agreed. I have always ordered via Apple. AT&T promised earlier shipping dates Sep 23 - 30 while Apple dates were in October. This made me pick AT&T over Apple. But looks like Apple is shipping their orders way ahead of the promised dates. Wondering if I would have got the phone by now if I had gone with Apple.

Are you kidding me?!? I'm in St. Louis and ordered mine (7plus 256 black) at 0 dark 30 when they started taking pre-orders, but I still haven't gotten a shipping notice, no back order, nothing.

But, hey - I'm glad for you. This gives me hope that mine should be shipping soon.

You shouldn't have cancelled. I chose the wrong appointment time and then realized it later. I called and the Apple rep assured me my phone would be held for me but I would have to make it there by end of business today. If I didn't make it before they close, the phone would be released for someone else to reserve.

LOL, it's really a shame how many times I've checked my status today. So far this is the longest I haven't checked and it's been about 45 min

It's too bad you did that. Presumably you already knew your original shipping dates. That's what you should have gone with (assuming we're not past your quoted shipping dates).

Agreed. If you're so impatient that you have to cancel, at least make sure that you have a device, in hand, before actually cancelling.

Anyone who's been around retail in any way can tell you that you should never trust that someone is going to hold something for you, it doesn't matter how honest they sound.

If it's not in hand, it's not guaranteed.

this is my issue. yes, my shipping date was 9/23-9/30. no, those dates have not arrived yet. however, it is bullish!t that people who ordered after (and considerably after at that) are getting their phones already. what was the point of waking up at 3am to order?

It is so unfortunate that AT&T is messing up like this. I can understand the delay in shipping an order but cannot understand why the orders placed after me get shipped earlier.

It's a struggle every minute of every day to stop obsessing over my order, but seeing others that ordered way ahead of me that still haven't received theirs is giving me the strength to stop checking. These last six hours have been hell though!
