Ok guys! Good news. Got my tracking info right after I posted about being on backordered status for approximately 12 hours. About 3 minutes after the post I received shipping info. 9/9 ordered 256gb mb 7+ at 11:10amEst. Went to backordered sometime this morning around 5am and received tracking tonight at 6pm. (All times EST). Delivery by fedex by 8pm tomorrow.
 
Hopefully, we'll start seeing some of the 9/30-10/7 estimated dates ship next week, if not sooner. I know I can't complain, but I'm just sooo excited; like a kid at Christmas except I'm a 37 year old woman!

I hope everyone gets good news soon this whole ordeal has been nerve racking to say the least. The system is broken didnt receive and update till the text saying my phone was shipped no updates via *6737# no updates via the web just the 800 number which thanks to u all I knew to expect shipping when it said one or more items out of stock. ATT did a horrible job of FIFO but honestly I spoke to a rep on release day who told me not to worry my phone would ship on the 23 and I would receive prolly the following Wednesday shocking it's gonna be here on the 23 so just stay strong somehow ATT know this organized confusion most will get either before or sometime during their shipping window I haven't seen many late

I ordered at 3:16:21 AM EDT on 9/9/2016 - iPhone 7 Plus 256 GB Matte Black - My date was 9/23 - 9/30. I just got that positive notification from both AT&T that says my iPhone 7 Plus has shipped and from FedEx saying that as of 7:03 PM my iPhone arrived at their Memphis location.
 
You have just confirmed my decision to stay up tonight to wait for a reservation. This has been a total and complete mess.
Whats best is to call the apple store in your area if/when you see they have availability of your phone. The reason is because they on the spot lock down your phone. They hold and process your phone while sending you into a saved cart that they create. You put your info and payment info in ( for me just tax on NEXT 24) and then its 100% yours. You make sure its the correct model/storage option since you technically check yourself out, but they create the cart for you. Myself and my GF did this earlier and canceled our orders over the phone when the very nice apple employee made sure everything went through with confirmations on both ends. I will never in my life order any phone from AT&T again!!!!~ It will be purely from Apple or Google directly. ***note- obviously if its past hours then you cannot call- this only works during store hours and they have availability for your specific model. Hope this helps people as I am picking up mine tomorrow and will be in/out since I already payed for it. Plus its in the Mall of Millenia in Orlando, so who wouldn't want to walk around there for a while :)

Okat I was processing a few days ago, then on backorder for like two days and then now Im preparing to ship. Anyone have a similar experience? I can't focus because all i think about is this damn phone. I want to either know when I am actually going to get it or something.
 
I've decided I'm going to the Apple Store tomorrow and buying a 256GB MB iPhone + instead of the 128GB.. and I'm going to pay the full price. I'm not giving ATT a red cent more than I have to.

I'm glad people are getting their phones. Pre ordered 9/9 at 11am for my 7+ 128 MB and still nothing. I know ship date is 9/23-9/30 but seeing phones ship at the same time I ordered and now after for the same phone does not give me good feelings about ATT. Tonight I go and hopefully reserve one from apple and cancel ATT.

Just got my new matte black 7+256 GB. It was supposed to ship the 23rd to 30 September got it today. :D 12:03 email confirmation.

Long time lurker. First time troller.

Ordered my 7+ Silver 128 on 9/13. Ship dates were 10/11-10/18.

Just received an email saying my phone will be delivered tomorrow. I'm in Seattle.

MUUHAHAHAHAHA!

I know you are all frustrated... But try to think about how many MILLIONS of people ordered this device. The fact that so many people ARE getting it as quickly as they have is amazing. Check your ship dates. Rely on them. They are doing the best they can.

Been lurking on this thread since the start. Took the advice of searching apple stores and found one at midnight. So much easier. They were more than happy to help with AT&T being slow to reset my eligibility also. If your impatient like me and you have a store near you, it doesn't hurt to try. Whatever you do, just DON'T cancel your preorder until you see the reservation in person. Another person cancelled theirs from Verizon while I was there and APPLE saved the wrong phone for him. Good luck everyone.

But don't you have to cancel your preorder before the computer will let you make an in-store reservation?
 
Hey, can anyone whose received their phones from ATT via Fedex tell me if signature is required? If so, is there a way to pre-sign? I won't be home and don't want to miss deliverly!!!!

I have the same question. I am going to work from home tomorrow just to be sure because it says delivery 9/23 before 8 PM. It also says under special instructions to deliver on a weekday.
 
You do not have to cancel your ATT before you reserve on in store from apple. You will need to cancel before Apple tries to add the phone to your account. You can either call or use the app or website to cancel while ok the store.
 
Is there any reason why AT&T keeps using "Preparing for Shipping" if they don't even have the phones? Why wouldn't they use backordered so at least they aren't trying to lead me on about my phone being close to being sent?

I don't know, but I've had enough of them for sure. I'm still not happy about that spam text they sent out. That's just incompetence at its finest. I hugged a co-worker when I got that message I was so happy thinking my phone actually shipped. Until I checked my order status every which way possible and calling in and having the lady be like, "Oh nooo dear, those iPhone pluses are delayed dear. Oh dear. Dear dear dear" BLAH!!!!

The gold is beautiful though but I'm not the biggest fan of white bezels but on this iPad Pro they look so good..
