My online says preparing to ship but the text gives me the backorder message. So, I have a black reserved at the Apple Store. I'm at work unfortunately, so I have someone taking care of it for me in a little less than two hours. Apple is supposed to be pretty good at getting the upgrade reset and canceling the preorder.

They may not be able to do it since the status has changed. Even though it says Preparing to Ship online, the status has changed since you got the back ordered text. I just didn't have the time to see what Apple can do. I have not heard of anyone that canceled their order after it went to back ordered or anyone mention that was their status when they cancelled. Good luck, I hope it works for you.
 
I feel like by the time my 7+ JB 128GB ships, I'll be over it! The only things keeping me from cancelling is the front-facing speaker and the portrait mode.
 
Just checked and got moved to back ordered. Hoping it comes soon

I was just at Apple, they said there's nothing to be done. I'm so mad.
 
For any of you who have already received your phones but are still lurking in the forums, have you encountered the "hissing" noise that many people were complaining about?

If so, what is the configuration of your phone?

I read about that issue and immediately tried to listen for it, but thankfully I don't hear it! I don't hear the hissing in the earpiece either like others have mentioned also. But I do hear very, very slight static on videos I've recorded o_O

It doesnt. You shouldnt cancel until u get to the Apple store!
so is that what you did? as in, get to apple. Say hey im here for my phone/reservation. They giv eit to me, i check it out like shaking a christmas gift...then call at&t and cancel preorder?
 
I ordered on 9/9 at 3:04 AM/EST and I received it yesterday. It never went to back order, just directly to ship. It was a black 7 plus 256gb

Yes just sent my Gold 128 Plus back due to hissing. A real shame. Wait forever to receive a phone and then get a defective unit.

As posted a few pages back, my wife's arrived 7+ 128GB Rose Gold and it hissed and got hot while restoring the backup. We are going to be monitoring it to see if it continues. If my own (7+ 256GB JB) would ever arrive we could compare and see if mine does it...
 
7+ MB 128GB ordered 9/9 in the afternoon - 3:27 PM EST expected shipping 10/7 - 10/14 just went into backorder when I checked *6737#

I've been lurking since day one - not expecting my order to ship before October. Maybe I'm in luck.

I'm in Central Massachusetts, BTW.
 
Could someone please clarify the following for me?

1) For the $650 in bill credits promotion when you trade in a 6s, do you just have to ORDER by 9/30, or do you have to activate by 9/30?

2) Do you have to order direct from AT&T to get this promotion? Or can I just sign up for a next plan through an Apple Store order?
You have to have your order submitted by 9/30. No tv service required. Just be sure to trade in your old phone asap. Bill credits will take 2-3 billing cycles.

Yup. Don't cancel until u get there bc they may not have it. There could be a good in inventory at any time

Hmm... I wonder if the static you're hearing could be due to that defect!

Got my 7+ JB 128 on Wednesday and it hisses. I spoke to Apple today and will be taking it back to the store this evening. They seem to know this is a problem and will replace the phone.
 
My order went to Back Ordered and I thought that was bad, but it looks like per this thread that is actually a good thing. Hoping mine ships soon. Had a 9/23-9/30 ship estimate.
 
Ordered a matte black 7 and a rose gold 7+ on preorder day 9 am.

Got the matte black 7 on release day and the rose gold 7+ today. I didn't get any shipping notification or tracking numbers for the second shipment. Just showed up on my porch.

i went in to the apple store for my reservation. i go online to cancel my order.. and it says i cant because it has already been sent for fulfillment, i called att and no one no one was able to cancel my order even retention. :((((((( ****kkkkkk im stuck, im ****ing stuck.
