Who's still waiting on their 7+ (NON jet black models)? What's your order date/time and configuration?

Still waiting on a 128GB MB 7+. My wife's silver, same size, arrived on Friday of last week. I ordered them on 9/15, new AT&T customer. Website status still just shows Preparing to ship, so I'm hoping this is the week.

For those of you who have decided on the JB color. I know many of you have already picked out cases, but has anyone had any experience with phone skins from (specifically the "naked" option) from slickwraps or best skins ever? I change up cases pretty often and the thought of messing up the JB finish just from trying to keep my phone protected scares me. What cases are you all considering?

The Veil XT. Probably the closest thing to naked possible.
Won't protect from impact, but will protect the finish from scratches, etc.
I'd prefer a clear one, but haven't found one as thin as this.

EDIT: Found it! Its FALL2016TRADE in case anyone else needs it.

-------------------------------
Those of you that are doing the AT&T trade in for the $650 credit how did you get the promo code to use on the website?

I see one site that says you get a text message with it (which I didn't) but I know I saw the promo code listed online somewhere and it was something like 'FALLTRADE2016'.

Does anyone have that handy?[/QUOT

Heck maybe you'll get backorder and then get shipping before me. This whole system is screwy. I plan on being on here for weeks still. I like talking and reading what's going on. Fingers crossed for you!!!
Thank you! Still in progress so far today

I had cancelled my original order with ATT on 9/17. Reordered with Apple 9/17 and finally got my shipped email this morning. (128 GB Matte black iPhone 7+ Att). Apple is shipping from China, so it's going to be awhile...

How do you know??? wouldn't Apple let you know once its shipped out from Apple's warehouse in States?

I was in the exact same situation as you. Ordered two 7+ JB 128gb on 9/9 at 12:30.
Was giving a date of 10/14-10/21. Fastwatd to this past Monday. Got a email stating my order was pushed back to November. Att sent my the shipping info today. For a Monday delivery. What a crazy way of doing business.
Actually, with the way they handled this preorder I wouldn't be surprised if accepting the new date made us jump to the front of the queue...

Got my JB 7+ 256GB last week. I originally ordered the Spigen air cushion case on Amazon with a clear back. I was concerned about getting debris under the case and scratching the phone, so I ordered a glossy skin to go on the back from best skins ever. It was easy to apply, but once I put the case on, it started sticking to the glossy skin on the back. I ordered the matte skin from best skins ever last week and it came in Saturday. I took the glossy one off and put the matte skin on the back of the phone and now the clear part of the case doesn't stick to it. The matte and glossy are totally different textures.

No apples warehouse is in China or at least at the moment with the phones. Phones go China->Alaska->Louisville->package carrier facility-> out
Right, I know that but how do you know the batch that went out from Apple China's warehouse is inclusive of yours... Just curious...

I don't think apple builds to purposely obselete. It's hard to build anything to last over 3 years when it is on constantly the entire time, environmental changes, drops, battery cycling and the works. If they did plan the 4s to last 5 years it would of cost me about 60 dollars a year at that point so... not to shabby

Engineering grad student btw :)
You would be surprised. They do purposely obsolete devices all the time. It just isn't done via hardware. iOS/MacOS releases regularly drop support for older models. I believe it was about a 4 - 5 year range supported last I checked.

Not true. The latest iOS devices to be dropped are dropped due to not having a 64-bit processor, needed for more complicated tasks. The earliest 64bit device is the 5S, i believe.

This is true but it's for good housekeeping with code and known hardware in the devices. It's not malice like where a company makes a year one device and then dead... kinda like the original Apple TV which I think is their one big example. Where as some phones on android lose support after a year. My MBP made it 8 years with software support before this year... that's a long time for a well used laptop.

Exactly. Dropped due to not supporting current features in the OS or just because they are not powerful enough any more to support the OS. When a new version comes out yearly, they can very easily plan when to phase out older phones. It works fine for me from a development standpoint because then I can drop support for those devices too.

Reading all these makes me glad I waited 10 hours in line on launch day. I wasn't so happy
On the day of or a week after. How can they make pre order worse then walking into a store, Jesus Apple do something about this...

Yeah, I don't mind it usually..... except when it forces me to get a new MBP because xcode requires a MacOS version my current one can't support any more. :)
