I'm pretty sure in the past my phone showed up before I got notification, sometimes on launch day, once surprisingly on Saturday. (All ordered through ATT on the old 2yr contract deal)

There may be a rainbow at the end of this storm guys..someone in an ATT forum posted this: "Hi everyone. I ordered an iPhone 7 Plus in Jet Black 256GB (probably the second most popular model being released this year) through AT&T's business premier website with an order completed at 2:51AM EST (10 minutes before pre-orders were meant to start). Later that day I ordered my brother an iPhone 7 in Jetblack 128GB the same way. I believe the order was completed around 7PM EST. My phone had ship dates between September 30 and October 7, while his had a delivered by September 16th shipping date. This morning at 6:44AM EST I received a confirmation email that his phone shipped and will be here on the 16th. I fully expect to get the same exact email later tonight or possibly tomorrow morning, and let me tell you why.

Last year, I ordered an iPhone 6S Plus in Space Grey 64GB (probably the most popular model being released that year) through AT&T's business premier website with an order completed at 3:24AM. I was having some website troubles so I wasn't able to get my order through fast enough. I recieved shipping dates of October 16 through October 23. I didn't have familiarity with how AT&T made shipping dates for the most popular models of new iPhones much later just to cover themselves, so obviously I was pretty disappointed. However, I looked in forums such as this one and I gained some hope that maybe it would come earlier and possibly even on release day, so I didn't cancel it. Later that day at around 5PM I placed an order, again, for my brother. I ordered him an iPhone 6s in Gold 64GB and, again, he had a release day delivery date (September 25, 2015). So September 23rd at 10:53AM EST, the Wednesday before release, I received a confirmation email that his phone had shipped and would be here on the 25th. This killed all my hopes of receiving my phone on delivery day and I was considering cancelling the order, until I later that night received the SAME email for my phone at 9:13PM EST.

So, I fully expect to receive the shipping confirmation email later today for my phone to be here on the 16th, especially becuase this time I ordered it 10 minutes before pre-order as opposed to 23 minutes after, I ordered the second most popular model as opposed to the most popular, and my posted shipping dates are much closer to the release date this year than they were last year. Anyone in a similar situation with a Jet Black 7 Plus order, I would tell you not to worry. I would say it's a safe bet to say if you ordered before 3:15AM your phone should arrive on release day.

Also for anyone wondering, the order status is currently preparing to ship."

I just received a text from AT&T to complete my Protect Plus set up..... Thanks for F---ing up my day

I just really believe the 7 plus matte blacks in higher storage are delayed. That's the only thing that sounds reasonable.

For those wondering if FEDEX will require a signature, it will tell you on your tracking screen. Mine does not require one.

Is this true? My tracking says nothing about needing a signature.. does everyone's say this or do some say signature required?

It would say one of these under the Shipment Facts at the bottom of your tracking screen:

  • Indirect Signature Required: FedEx obtains a signature from someone at the delivery address; from a neighbor, building manager or someone at a neighboring address; or the recipient can also leave a FedEx Door Tag authorizing release of the package without anyone present.
  • Direct Signature Required: FedEx obtains a signature from someone at the delivery address. If no one is at the address, we reattempt delivery.
  • Adult Signature Required: FedEx obtains a signature from someone at least 21 years old (and possessing the required government-issued photo ID) at the delivery address. If no eligible is at the address, we reattempt delivery.

I usually get in line around 8 pm Thursday and have never been more then the 3rd person in line so that's how I know I will get what I want

Yikes. I thought it was like line up an hour or two before the store opens. 8 pm on Thursday? Grrrrrl, you cray lol. I didn't realize that people literally "camp" out. This is my first iphone. I wouldn't stand in line that long for anything, except maybe a winning million dollar lottery ticket hehehehe.

Im so lost. The charge has disappeared from my bank statement.... Order still says preparing to ship...So this is a GOOD thing?
It's worth repeating.

Any pending charge rolling of your statement only means one thing -- the pending charge rolled off.

In my view, it's only coincidental that there were those who happened to ship at approximately the same time that a pending charge rolled off.

Then again, for those of us who are on an AT&T Next plan, we already got charged taxes at order time.

So there ya go :)

So I got a fraud alert when I ordered my phone, I went ahead and approved it as soon as I got the notification.

I am unaware of whether AT&T ran the card again or if it was declined or not. My order has been in preparing to ship since then. I ordered a 128gb rose gold 7+ t 9am EST with delivery date of 9/16.

I don't have access to the email confirmation as I am not the account holder and I can't get a hold of my sister right now.

Could this cause delays? I also used my credit card which has a different billing address than the account holder.

I know I am probably just getting anxious and overthinking!
I think I received a fraud alert as well. I simply OKd it and things went forward without issue.

YMMV.

Happens all over the US on launch day for iPhones. We Apple-heads are crazy serious about getting our new phones 1 day a year. GOTTA have them on launch day... It's just a culture..

I dunno girl. How do people pee? Do they wear diapers? This sounds crazy lol.

As a person who, while not camping out, have stood in lines for HOURS and HOURS for various things, if the crowd is cool than they'll let you go pee and come back. After an hour or so you start conversing with folks around you and become friendly with each other (not like that...unless that's your thing than good on ya) and sometimes folks will make a store run for the group. it becomes like a small community that immediately disappears the minute you get what you want haha
