Don't use the app. It tends to suck majorly.

Go into your account via PC/Mac, click on My Orders, all shipping/delivery details would be contained right there.

After an hour or so you start conversing with folks around you and become friendly with each other (not like that...unless that's your thing than good on ya) and sometimes folks will make a store run for the group. it becomes like a small community that immediately disappears the minute you get what you want haha

Where do you pee in the middle of the night though? Nothing is open at those hours. Do you stay awake all night? Or take sleeping bags and sleep? I'd be afraid of someone robbing me while I'm asleep. I'm in Chicago after all lol.

"Preparing to Ship" is the last status that you'll receive until AT&T matches a device with your position in line.

At least that's how AT&T has been running the process for years.

Then again, for those of us who are on an AT&T Next plan, we already got charged taxes at order time.

My pending charge was for the taxes, haven't gotten an actual charge yet.

Chicago Peeps!

The thread is getting confusing, so if anyone in Chicago plans to camp out in the city, hit me on private message here or on social media. My iphone 7 Plus Gold has shipped but I really wanted Matte black so I'm considering camping out.

As far as the bathroom, either gotta find a 24 hour store/fast food spot or swallow your pride and make that 10 yard shuffle to a bush haha. Again it all depends on the folks around you, if theyre good folks they'll let you sleep in peace and wake you up if need be. In my experience adrenalin and excitement tend to keep a person up for quite awhile. Of course being that youre in Chicago (no offense but not much good news lately coming out of Chicago) I might be a little more hesitant, but im not from there so I cant speak on that. I say trust your gut. If its not life or death that you get your phone on launch day than maybe head out during regular business hours.

I was having some website troubles so I wasn't able to get my order through fast enough. I recieved shipping dates of October 16 through October 23. I didn't have familiarity with how AT&T made shipping dates for the most popular models of new iPhones much later just to cover themselves, so obviously I was pretty disappointed. However, I looked in forums such as this one and I gained some hope that maybe it would come earlier and possibly even on release day, so I didn't cancel it. Later that day at around 5PM I placed an order, again, for my brother. I ordered him an iPhone 6s in Gold 64GB and, again, he had a release day delivery date (September 25, 2015). So September 23rd at 10:53AM EST, the Wednesday before release, I received a confirmation email that his phone had shipped and would be here on the 25th. This killed all my hopes of receiving my phone on delivery day and I was considering cancelling the order, until I later that night received the SAME email for my phone at 9:13PM EST.

So, I fully expect to receive the shipping confirmation email later today for my phone to be here on the 16th, especially becuase this time I ordered it 10 minutes before pre-order as opposed to 23 minutes after, I ordered the second most popular model as opposed to the most popular, and my posted shipping dates are much closer to the release date this year than they were last year. Anyone in a similar situation with a Jet Black 7 Plus order, I would tell you not to worry. I would say it's a safe bet to say if you ordered before 3:15AM your phone should arrive on release day.

Also for anyone wondering, the order status is currently preparing to ship."

Nice. When I ordered iPhone 6 Pluses for my wife and I two years ago, I also got in about 10 minutes prior to official 3:01am ET time frame. It was kind of funny in that reps kept telling me that they had to put our orders in after the initial 3:01am orders. This sounds like that such a time frame is no longer an issue.

I haven't ordered an iphone through ATT since Iphone 4, and at that time didn't require a signature.
 
Does anyone know if Fedex requires a signature when they deliver the iPhone? Or will they just leave it on your doorstep?

I am a huge online shopper lol. I track everything. If you are really worried, you could put a note on your door saying you authorize them to release it.
 
UPS always leaves it on my door step. One year, I received an email saying my new iPhone had been delivered, but it wasn't in front of my door. I drove around the neighborhood for about 20 minutes until I found it sitting in front of the wrong house!
 
Knowing my luck, I'll get the jet black and accidentally scratch it and wish for the matte black. Can a jet black scratch-free phone exist in our current world? I'm about to find out.. mid-october..

Your mileage may vary. For the iPhone 5s the driver tossed it at my door and ran. I then got an alert saying it was delivered with signature. I was home and waiting so it was no big deal but we all remember this...

Have you seen the video review in posted in one of the other forums? Apparently, the JB scratches getting it out of the box! Even getting it in and out of your pocket causes it to scratch!
