I just had a chat with EE on the phone, played dumb with them that I didn't know what was going on, the dude on the phone seemed pretty chilled that I was down as next day delivery and that consignment number will be issued tomorrow when they get sent out. He said if I don't hear anything by Friday morning to give them a call but he said I should hear from them tomorrow.

I imagine a lot of us will finally relax tomorrow when the text comes through...

I don't think mine will, due to a later order, but it would be nice to know when it's likely to be delivered although I imagine even EE won't know that until they actually get stock.

As an aside, I've been with Vodafone for years (moving away from them with this order) and the DPD delivery text never came through until the day of delivery. I know EE say the day before, but with Vodafone it was ALWAYS the morning of delivery they would text / email with the details of delivery.

EE could be different, but thought it was worth mentioning!

As much as I agree with your first line I feel that the lack of communication we are getting is disappointing, the fact we can't even get an "in progress" status page for orders is very surprising in this age.

Browsing through EE responses on Twitter it's the usual spiel of saying absolutely nothing.

"We'll start deliveries on Friday." "We will send your order ASAP." "You're at the top of the queue so it should arrive soon."

Expect disappointment on Friday. Funny how the confidence drops away as soon as you've placed your order.

Yeah agreed.
Sorry to keep banging on about Vodafone ha, but they were the same. My last 2 orders with them were on 'processing' and stayed on processing even after delivery had happened haha.

Do EE not let you log into an account section and check status then? I can't even register with them yet due to not having a phone number yet!

Nope there is no way to check in-progress orders.

After experiencing a real horror show with upgrading on EE through the Carphone Warehouse (some of you might have seen my post about them asking me to "call Samsung" about my iPhone order...) I decided to cancel my entire upgrade through them and join onto the back of EE's direct queue instead. It sucks because I was at the front of my first queue, but the customer service was that bad it made me want to get out of it. At least the EE team seem a lot friendlier and more knowledgeable when I spoke to them. Was told that by placing my order today I shouldn't expect a Silver Plus 128gb to arrive before early/mid october, but got a cracking deal that I'm really happy with and more than happy to wait as long as I never have to speak to CPW again.

Grrr ! Just rung EE. Because of the high demand my order was only put through yesterday!!!!! And now there is "up to a 21 day wait for that particular model". EE really are rubbish. What a surprise that there was a high demand!

hi folks, just sharing what i've experienced for comparison:--

ordered a 7+ jet black 128gb as an online upgrade with EE on friday at 9:30am, after waiting in the website "queue". shortly after my order was processed the listed despatch time increased from 7 days to 14 days, so hopefully i got one of the last few...

"confirmation of upgrade" email received at 9:50am

on the 12th i received another confirmation email including the following:

"Your order has been received. As soon as we’re ready to send your new device, our courier (DPD) will text you to let you know your delivery options. If it looks like there’s going to be any delay due to high demand, we’ll keep you updated."

...and that's all i've
got. money has been taken, dpd text is awaited eagerly

Was this one of the plain text emails or the HTML ones? as i've given up trying to work out which ones I care about as they are all pretty useless for details haha.

But yes, 3 emails myself and the money has actually left my account now.

Called EE twice over the last couple of days, played dumb about JB+ 128 short stocks and said I was told when I upgraded over the phone Friday lunchtime I'd definitely have a phone on launch day (which I was pretty emphatically).

Both calls since then I was told delivery would be within either 14 days or 14 working days (no one seemed sure which) of my order being placed and that's all they could tell me other than the only way I'd know when delivery was going to happen was when I got the DPD text, they have no way to tell what stage my delivery was at.

Funny how the situation / standard of service / tone of voice changes once they got your money / order.

I have just called them, I upgraded both phones on my account. A 32gb Matt Black and 32gb Gold (ordered same time) - been told that the black has been sent to courier and gold is still processing! wouldn't care but I work in a school and getting it delivered there so need to make sure that I am about to show my ID.

bit frustrated tbh, at point of ordering at no point did he even mention timescales for delivery, now no one can even give me a rough date

No phone yet but I do have a case to hold.

I can live with 14 days I suppose! Am waiting on same model from EE as an upgrade but have a gold + reserved in store under the aple upgrade programme on Friday so if I like that and can live iwth the white bezel I might keep it and cancel the EE. I think it unlikly though........

Random, but just had a call back from EE saying my phone has been "picked" so I should see it on Friday, however due to geographical location depending on the warehouse logistics if DPD don't collect it tomorrow I might not see it on Friday (this is common for this area of the UK), if you guys want, ring them and asked if your phone has been "picked", they can see this status on the system.

Just rang them, guy didn't sound as enthusiastic this time...said no further update he could give me but whatever I was told when I upgraded would be right....so Friday it is Not so sure myself.

When I ordered I was told they had been told that all orders before midday would be guaranteed unless informed otherwise! I didn't quite believe this at the time but he sounded confident
