I know this has been asked before but are Apple iPhones truley unlocked, as in they won't lock to the first sim I put in? I'm upgrading to a three 12 month plan but need to put my O2 sim in for a few days first? Should this be OK?

If buying direct from Apple they are unlocked and will stay that way.

what are the chances of getting one next week though :( I'm so desperate!

To be honest probably much better next week. Tomorrow is going to be crazy with people collecting reservations. Next week will give chance for more stock to come in. Or just check Apple website everyday and see if you can resverve one. Much better than wasting ones time:)

Yup! Confirmed, I've just successfully ordered a Jet Black 4.7" 128GB + Case bundle from John Lewis for collection from my local store on Saturday.
E-mail received and money taken!

Still not cancelling my Apple pre-order just in case (still listed as processing for 26/09-03/10, confirmed at 08:03)

We shall see what happens!
Gave the heads up to younger brother who's been after a Jet Black 4.7. He did this too. Hopefully it works out.

iPhone's from Apple are unlocked and DON'T lock to a specific network.

That's the same for both my orders.

Used the chat and the guy seems to think mine will arrive on Saturday, he was able to give me the tracking number, so thats a positive thing.

Thanks for the heads up and enjoy your when they arrive tomorrow!!!

So is John Lewis actually going to have stock of the Plus models tomorrow morning?
Or is it a case of order straight away, get charged, confirmation of order and then no movement for a week because they don't actually have stock?

They are doing different pricing depending on if you bought your phone from them or not. So to get that price you'd need to have bought your new phone from them.

My 6 plus 128 is £270
Mine is a 6S unlocked bought from Apple, am not getting new phone from them but the EE store next door.

Mine is still 8th October. ARGHHHHHH. 128gb Plus Black

Just checked my order status on the Apple Store App, it has changed to preparing to dispatch for my JB + 256GB sometime in the last 2 hours (last checked around 8).

It's not due until sometime between 26th Sept- 3rd Oct so I find it a bit strange its preparing to dispatch already!

You lucky swine I ordered the same one at 8:07am on pre-order day and mine's still in "Processing order..."

The way John Lewis works is they will only allow you to order if they have stock*.

They don't do pre-orders/backorders.

*Not accounting for accidental overselling due to their crappy availability system.

Ah ok so technically they're gonna have some to buy tomorrow morning.

My instore pickup just changed to 'ready for pick up' on the Apple Store app. Not received any confirmation email yet.

Liverpool store

There is a reservation page you can use for next day pickup with a timeslot. Last time when the 6s Plus Rose Gold was a difficult model to get hold of at launch, it appeared in stock at some stores. People were waiting for their online pre-orders when some who waited could walk in and get one.

I'm soweee :(

My order time was exactly the same, 8:07 so I'm sure you'll get a status update soon! :D:)

I'm not sure if the status change holds much meaning, as my delivery estimate hasn't changed. Is this normal? o_O
