OK. So that is a true estimate and I am unlikely to see the delivery in the next week or so. I ask because Apple has been very Conservative in the past with delivery dates. you suddenly get a message that it is out for delivery and get it days early.

ASenna04

There's potential for them being bumped to the next date bracket before the one quoted, but it's not definitive. To be honest, if oh get into the mindset it's gonna come earlier, it'll drive you neurotic.

Why are people getting delivery tomorrow within 1 day? Mine was dispatched today with DHL Express but states 28/9 estimated delivery???

Just use Hullomail... it's awesome and if you pay for the app you get all your voicemail on email too.

I tried Hullomail when I first switched to EE from O2 as back then EE did not have visual voicemail. To be honest I didn't really like it or get on with it. I prefer to have native support for something like that.

Im sure one or 2 people said that they had that date with DHL then a while later it updated properly with a next day date? Was last night in this thread, I think.

I’d disagree, I worked it out for the phone I got as

Apple upgrade program for 128Gb 4.7” is £38.45p/m x 11 = £422.95 + £49 upfront = £471.95 (cost of phone + AC for a year)

Buy outright for £699+Apple care £119 = £818. In 12 months it should be worth at least £400-£450 so cost of phone + AC for a year = £368 -£418

So by my maths that leaves me £103.95-£53.95 better off. Unless I’ve missed something?

They were comparing the cost of owning a phone over two years with the upgrade programme, rather than yearly which is what people would actually do in most situations. Over two years the cost difference is £119 if you wouldn't have bought Applecare+ IF YOU DON"T UPGRADE. Upgrading yearly technically you could always sell the phone somewhere else after a year, use the money to pay off the remaining months and keep the difference. You still have the option to sell the phone after a year to someone else, you can just hand it in to Apple and have the remaining debt wiped which is the easy option but you can try and get more elsewhere, it's a bit of a hassle but you don't lose the option completely.

So in 12 months time you could sell phone for £400, pay £346.05 to pay off the rest of what you owe in one go and keep the rest of the £400. If you did that then the cost is just half the amount of Applecare+ as you could get a refund for half of it if you buy outright, not sure if you can cancel the Applecare+ on IUP after a year and get a refund.

Anyone with a Mac. Sierra is live :)

I want to update but I think I will give it a few days before I do. The servers are always hammered on the first day of any new OS release and it's usually pretty slow to update. Plus I rather find out about any major bugs or issues before making the jump.

Lets hope they get two reservations not showing up and they magically appear on the site. :-D

Unfortunately, even if they do pop up, I won't be able to reserve one yet anyway. I'm putting mine on a 0% interest credit card, but still waiting for it to turn up.

I have the money to buy outright and to be honest I'm extremely tempted to just do that, but it'd be nicer to pay it off over 12 months and also get over a 1000 clubcard points, so I'm holding out for now :(

I've been running it since PB1 and had no problems.

I see, hope your card comes soon and you maange to secure a phone. Good Luck.

Right, so I'm back from Solihull iPhone-less.

I went to:

Apple store
CPW
O2
3
Vodafone
EE

Apple store was very busy, I had 2 iPhone 7s reserved (silver and gold) but I said I want a plus if they had one. They didn't have any plusses available and only had a couple of 7s in Rose Gold.

Carphone Warehouse had a couple of black 7s.
O2, 3 and Vodafone had nothing.
EE had one black JB 7. I was tempted to go for this but after playing around some more in the Apple store, I came to the conclusion I want a matte black plus.

The JB looks great when new, but horrible with fingerprints. The matte was a lot darker than it looks in the promo pics and I think it looks very stealthy and slick.

Roll on 6am.

Thanks mate...can't tell where dispatched from as tracking number doesn't show up on DHL site...Dispatch notification received today at 11:45

My order was finally about to be dispatched, but the whole process was interrupted by a payment authorisation failure error. Apparently my payment information was incorrect. Oddly enough, I can't get it to work at all. I've tried multiple times with the correct information but it just isn't having it. So now my order has been delayed indefinitely. Perfect.

I'm not sure I like the new home button

I suspect it dispatched in the U.K. and I'd be surprised if it wasn't delivering tomorrow. Once the uk delivery company have it, it's usually next day, unless dispatch is late in the evening.
