I say the opposite. Apple purposely feeding more 256gb into the market, when overall supplies are tight
They make an extra 100 or 200 quid, and it only costs them an extra 5 or 10 bucks!!!!
Probably also down to fact no one needs 256GB memory either. 64GB was more than enough for me last year but had to get 128 this year.
Plus your right by the fact Apple can push their profits higher by supplying 256GB models and restrict the others.

Mine still hasn't left China yet! Due for delivery Wednesday and it still says:

Mine also states this too but have noticed a few people with dhl and Monday delivery showing has arrived in the U.K. I'm hoping for tracking update by the end of tomorrow!
so for you UPS folk in Taiwan, looks like Cologne is the next spot.. well it seems to be the only European destination UPS fly to from there!

My son has woken me up ridiculously early today, which has caused me to look at the tracking for my iPhone. At the moment, all my previous tracking has disappeared, its currently showing as in China as of 30/10 and I cant see any of the movement I'd previously seen to Korea and Taiwan! Not sure why?
Does anyone else who has an orde coming on Monday with DHL have the last tracking status as 'departed the netherlands'?
I'm seeing movement from others that thier phones from the same shipment in China have arrived in the U.K.

I have the same tracking number and I am unable to see where my iphone is on DHL.
What do you mean by mystery flight?
Mine's now on the move and trackable! Even if it has sat in China for 24hrs... still showing as delivery for Weds 5th though which is a week earlier than Apple originally predicted 
Mine is now showing at Heathrow having gone to Belgium after leaving Amsterdam...

I cant check on mine the DHL tracking site is down for "maintenance" apparently, however I'm getting a October 3rd date.
I was hoping it would be Cologne but No! Now in Mumbai. At least they're moving west now....slowly. I'm not that hopeful they'll get out for delivery tomorrow now.
China, Korea, Taiwan, and now India. Without a doubt the most random route I have ever seen. My JB 7plus is having the trip of a lifetime
Yep, mine is now showing Mumbai too, having disappeared off the radar for a moment this morning. Not that it makes much difference, it's miles away still!
That pallet was listed as departing China today but actually left last week and arrived in Amsterdam Thursday then took a day to be sorted.
Find the reference number from you shipping email (starts 8xxxxxxxx) and put that in DHL's search by reference.
You should get tracking for your specific phone.
Mine left the DHL hub in Amsterdam on Friday night but hasn't arrived anywhere yet
