THIS HAS NOW FINALLY CONVINCED ME TO PURCHASE THE IPHONE 7. THANKY YOU APPLE!

iOS 10 will be on hundreds of
Millions of devices that don't have the new Home Button. There is nothing indicating anything in iOS 10.
I like the home button. Especially the Touch ID that powered Apple Pay and is debated from a security standpoint. If they can replicate it withou a physical button in terms of function, speed and reliability, the I am all in as this gives us the potential for more screen in the same form factor. But I said if. I am concerned that without a physical home button things like hard reset may be an issue.
Is it thinner? I hope to heaven it's thinner!
Thin, thin thin! Thin is IN!
THIN!!!
Stop thinking, please... You're ruining everyone's complaints! That's a stupid complaint:

If the long button (volume rocker) is in your right, then it's the right way up!
"... iPhone 8, coming in 2017."? Shouldn't 2017 bring us the iPhone 7s?
A home button that is flush with the front panel ... and a protruding camera lens that sticks out like a sore thumb on the back panel.![]()
It looks like you have not been reading the rumors for the last 3 months or so!

I seriously don't get the issue people have with the protruding camera on the iPhone! It is so minimal!
I don't want a thinner phone, I don't want the headphone jack removed, I don't care about the home button, what I want is much longer battery life and a phone that doesn't need to a case to protect it. I wish Apple would focus on these areas
Is this something anyone wants? I kind of like being able to feel the divot where the button is. I like being able to tell where buttons are in general by feel. I prefer my Logitech Harmony Remote with REAL buttons over the touch screen ones. Not sure I really like this design aesthetic of everything completely smooth so you can't tell which way you are holding the device. Don't even get me started on that remote nightmare called the AppleTV Remote.
I'd be fine with this as long as:
1. Accidental taps are ignored - I've used a Samsung GS5, and if your hand grazes the back/multitasking button you are immediately removed from whatever you are doing. Terrible UX. Apple can do this by requiring a certain amount of force and providing real time feedback.
2. They add home button swipe gestures - something like swipe up to go into multitasking, swipe left/right to switch between the last apps.
With that logic, wouldnt it make more sense calling the 2016 model 6SE, due to its minor changes?Given that Apple is rumored to be introducing such major changes in the 2017 iPhone, we don't believe it will be called the iPhone 7s. We're not sure what it'll be called, so for now we're going with iPhone 8.
[doublepost=1467190347][/doublepost]That is not what I was asking for. I was asking for an Iphone that was robust and has a battery that lasts. If that's what you really want, here you go.

Hoe about an Android for you then, or what about adding a physical keyboard?now how about some rumors of a thicker phone for more battery with a flush camera jack, retained headphone port and a micro sd slot for expandable storage...
One can dream...
get rid of the bezels!
Viewing the 7 as a transitional model is a good perspective.Apple getting people use to no physical home button. The iPhone 7 will be the test pilot phone but same deminsions and size will remain leaving the iPhone 8 the one to buy.
I'm sure both are replaceable.Have you not been following the rumor mill for the past several months?
Awesome, flush home button. Unless it serves another purpose like water sealing, I don't see a positive . For useability purposes it works great that now, I can find the button by touch.

Maybe people don't like their devices having a wobble....
It doesn't wobble. Besides, I have never meet anyone outside Macroumors who actually noticed it, never mind cares. Most people wrap it up in a case.
