I think my days of buying iPhones on a regular basis for the sake of features is over. I used to upgrade every year. My wife got the 6s to replace her 5s, but I kept my 6. Until the 6 gets laggy and busted on me I doubt I'll buy a new iPhone.
It would have to be waterproof, have a virtually shatterproof screen, or a huge jump in battery life plus wireless charging for me to spend the money on it. Maybe I'll grab the 7s if this thing (the 6) has finally had it.
Note: I use a Sony A6000 for when I really want picture.
I agree. The 6S was not at all a compelling upgrade. The only really enticing feature it has is the upgraded TouchID; but other than that it is thicker and heavier, with a smaller battery. The phone I wanted, an unlocked 64GB 6S+ with Apple Care would have cost me over $1000. Apple just can't justify selling these things anymore the way it used to. They are discounting their products right and left now, which never happened when Steve was around.
The 64GB 6+ was selling on WalMart last week for $599. I bought a 12.9" 128GB pro for $760 last week; the LTE model is selling now for $860. Those are insane discounts for 6 month old products. And the Apple Watch is permanently $50 off.
I would much rather trade these discounts for better products though.
