In the mean time, using an iPhone cable to USB in your armrest seems to work very well! Except phone calls have to be made on the headset itself.

Have you tried changing the name of your iPhone? Remove your iPhone from the Bluetooth devices in your car, then on your iPhone Bluetooth choose your car and select 'Forget this device'. Rename your iPhone and pair again.
Haven't renamed my phone, but have gone through all those other steps many times! Guess it won't hurt to try that as well.

For BMW drivers just play your music through the the USB ports. The audio quality is better than Bluetooth and you can charge at the same time. I've had no problems so far.
[doublepost=1476813225][/doublepost]Well, I tried that, but you still can't change/select music via the car, but have to keep picking up the phone to do it. Also, doesn't solve the hands-free phoning issues. It's illegal in Illinois to drive with a phone in your hand (although I know, I know...so many still do it!)

Sure that would work but I don't take my phone out of my pocket when driving. Just too distracting. I'll wait and hope for a proper fix.

renamed then rebooted iphone 7+ - using 10.1B4 - and sTILL only get two connections then 'pairing failed (kia soul)
gonna call apple and ask for new phone or confirmation that this is an IOs issue.

Tried renaming my phone like you mentioned & it surprisingly seemed to work... for a few days & then back to the same issues again! =( I just updated to the 5th Beta this morning... have to see how that works out tonight after work!

I'm with you - and loaded beta 5 yesterday - it held for 5 connections then 'pairing failed' also I'm getting audio drop outs. - I called apple two days ago they recommended I restore my iTunes back up - I did but no good - I'm gonna call and get this 7 plus replaced.

What are you going to get it replaced with? All of the 7's and 7+'s have this audio connection problem. :(

Mine has actually been working consistently since I last posted on Thursday... Now I see the official 10.1 has been released & I'm worried it will bork it up again!!
And I spoke too soon! get in car this morning & get the dreaded 'pairing failed' message once again. Still on beta 5 (which is supposedly the same as the official 10.1 release)

I went from 10.1 beta 2 to the 10.1 final today and now I'm back in the boat of the error message with "pairing failed" occurring after 1 or 2 car on/off cycles in my 2012 Hyundai Tucson. Very Frustrating! iOS 10.1 Beta 2 held beautifully without any issues whatsoever (2 1/2 weeks?). I did try to flash back to iOS 10.1 Beta 2 but it is no longer signed by Apple. Looks like I'm stuck, hopefully someone figures out a workaround!

Has anyone else still problems with iphone7, 10.1 & BMW Audio? Unfortunately it is still not working for me - none of the above mentioned steps helped to resolve the issues...

Working perfectly (knock on wood) today with 10.1 (7+) on my 2015 228i. Let's hope it lasts.
Didn't use any tricks, but just reconnected the audio portion of Bluetooth in the car settings.

I don't use the iPhone for Music, bit I cannot initiate a call form the BMW (series 7 - 2015) without it failing.
Call initiation from the phone works fine on BT
Latest BMW software - iOS 10.1 did not fix it

I can confirm all back to normal with 10.1 and my BMW X3 MY13.5. I have the pro Nav pack option which allows BT audio streaming. Tried music and all ok and also made and received a few calls. Definitely no more issues experienced.
Btw, I just turn BT on, jumped in my car after the 10.1 update and everything was back to working. I didn't need to re-pair or forget device or anything else.

Did Beta 2 work for you? I didn't want to keep rolling the dice by upgrading through each beta version, but beta 2 worked great in my 2012 Hyundai Tucson. 10.1 Final broke it again though for sure, and Beta 2 is no longer signed so I can't downgrade back to it. Ugh.

I don't stream music from my iPhone 7+ but have noticed that phone call audio fades and drops out in my 2014 Kia Cadenza. I never had this problem with my iPhone 6S+. I did update my iOS to 10.1 but it is still doing it.

I believe beta 2 did work for me but the betas came along very fast and it was 3-5 (non of which worked for me) - IF B2 working for you - stay there for now - because b5 - then release 10.1 ain't working for me.

I have a 2015 Acura TLX with Technology Package. and WhatsApp voice message won't work with bluetooth HFP
In order to listen to them I have to be using bluetooth as audio source in the car head unit or otherwise the audio of the voice message sounds choppy or it is just weird noises. before iOS 10 WhatsApp voice message were working fine they were sent to the car's stereo as if they were a call and I could listen to them just fine.

With the latest update to 10.1.1 from Apple last week, I no longer have any connection problems with my car

This is still an issue with 10.2!
As I said much earlier in this thread, it is not an iOS 10 issue. It is a failure to be current on Bluetooth errata by BMW.

The similar issue I observed with the Polar V800 triathlon watch was resolved by software and firmware updates from Polar. The issue that this thread is centered on will be fixed by BMW or not at all, since it is their failure.

I'm on the wrong thread then as I don't have a BMW.
