Yeah 12 hours of usage is good. But not when your phone is sleeping and it thinks it's still on. I am at 83% now with nearly 2 hours usage and 10 hours sleep. Much better.

I am getting around 8 hours of usage. Much better than my previous S6 Edge+ but no 12 hours of usage. I guess my usage (power consumption) is different as I play games and keep screen brightness at auto etc

Does the term usage in ios and screen on time in android the same thing?

No, for instance look at my old 3GS that I charged and just left it on my table. Screen on time was no more than 5 minutes.

I've a lot of Apple product. the last one is my iPhone 7. do you use the new charger came in the box or the old one from your previous iPhone? I've keep the new charger in the box and use the previous one.

It doesn't make any difference. The amp on the chargers are same.

My stats from the last two cycles. I was a little afraid of buying the 7 over the 6S Plus or 7 Plus because of the supposedly inferior battery life, but as you can see the battery life is actually pretty good on this powerful little beast :)

Here is what I got. I am happy with it. Sorry about the stitching app, it messed up with the middle screen shot dropping the higher percentage items. Movies, YouTube, tv and safari.

absolutely loving my battery life on the plus. Went to work yesterday with 100% at 8am, had a browse at lunch time for 10/15 minutes. Finished work at 5:30pm and my battery was still at 98%. Granted not much usage time but to not lose more over standby whilst receiving notifications etc I am still impressed.

Battery life has been the only redeeming feature of iOS 10 for me. I'm guessing it's because all the stock apps have so many bugs stopping them working that it saves power

I haven't noticed any issues with iOS10 - but then, I just use my phone normally.

All the stock apps have so many bugs that they are basically stopped from working? Talk about an imaginary hyperbole.

No. *bugs stopping them from working. Not basically stopped working. And yes i exageratted the problem to simplify the post

Something that isn't real doesn't simplify something, and realistically just undermines it.

You're impossible.
So here you go;

I have bugs with messages, safari, photos, maps, contacts, the phone app, the music app, the mail app and reminders.
There you have it. While I'm at it should I also say that exaggerate means it's at least partly real, not entirely not real as 'something that isn't real..' implies.

Thanks for making that as much work as possible to explain

The exaggeration isn't real, even if something underneath it all might be. Sure, there are bugs of one type of another with pretty much most apps or really any software out there. There's a difference between some bugs being somewhere and the exaggeration of them stopping the software from functioning, which makes for a meaningful distinction.

Is that with an Apple Watch connected? Impressive.

Still no change for the better here. Have DFU restored to 10.1.1 again a week ago but it doesn't matter. Overnight I'm losing 1 percent an hour, and when I start using the phone after a night I can see the percentage tick down another 7 percent, so a total of 15 for 7 hours of sleep.

Now; on airplane mode it loses 3 percent, so it should be software, right? Well. I don't know. I have deleted all my apps and the drain continues, deleted all my mail accounts, deleted the iCloud account. But it still drains when not on airplane mode. I am still using my apple watch though (which gets around 3 days of battery life, so that DID get better).

The phone generates 30-40 minutes of usage in a night and at the end of a normal day it would say 15 hours stand-by with 7-8 hours of usage. It doesn't matter if I actually use the phone during that time or not.

Yesterday I left the home at 6PM fully charged and came home 5AM with 40 percent left. Did not use the phone, girlfriends SE was still at 96 percent and was actually used to look something up.

Only difference between our phones are that she actually uses all the stuff the phone has to offer and has no watch connected while I turn everything off and have a watch. However; when pairing the watch with her phone it just works as intended. She had 9 hours stand-by with 20 minutes of usage on the clock while I, of course, had around 3 hours of usage on 8,5 hours of standby. Incredibly frustrating.

Apple's engineers have been looking into my iCloud account but they havent found anything yet.
I'm seriously considering selling the 7 (since I had this problem on two 7's now) and just getting an SE..

I'm convinced it is certain phone's themselves where something puts it into a "mode" where it drains significantly and there isn't a way to get it out of that mode once it happens on the phone. Reloads, DFU Restores etc. have no effect in resolving the issue. I was having similar issues to you (actually a bit worse as I was seeing even more significant drain in airplane mode with NO accounts set up for it.). After arguing with various techs, you can see more of the story earlier in this thread, I finally got a replacement. It has been night and day difference. Bummer that it has happened to you across two different phones.

My IPhone 7 again. Mostly surf on the wifi at home and som phone calls on bad cellular service. I´m not that impressed with the battery life, i have to admit but it could be worse i guess.

My biggest problem with the battery life is the standby time. I think it drains to much battery when the phone is unused. Over the night (8 hours), i lose ten procent for the most part. That´s not terrible but still. I can also point out that i only have things like background refresh on with specific apps like Messenger, the weather and notes. On other apps, disabled.

I had the same standby drain issue with my JB7. I have tried everything with no improvement. Finally went to the Apple Store a couple times and the genius told me it is very normal for the phone to loss 15-20% overnight in standby mode. I told them that the 7 had worse battery performance than my old 6S. They said that I can't really compare the two phones since they are so so different. It was the first time I felt really diappointed with Apple and wanted to get a S7 Edge to call it a day.

Anyways, I ended up getting a new MB7 last week at Target during its Black Friday sale and sold my JB7 online. Guess what, the battery on the new phone is great. With the JB7, I would ended up 20-30% left at the end of the day. With the new MB7, I have been getting 50-60% remaining by the end of the day. One thing I noticed is that with the JB7, my cell signal is at 2-3 bars at home. On the MB7, I get 4-5 bars. I don't know if that's what was causing the battery drain issue. And yes, the JB7 is with Intel chip and the MB7 is Qualcomm chip.
