Startaded at 100 unfortunately.

Depends what you have going on. Location, notifications, emails, background refresh, bluetooth, wifi, LTE etc. I leave mine in airplane mode overnight and lose 1% tops but 5% over 7 hours wouldn't be abnormal if you were fairly lax with your location permissions, email fetch duration and bluetooth/wifi etc.

On my phone the drain dissapeared when I disabled Siri. You could try that. However, you only have 15 minutes of usage overnight, and the Siri drain had 30 here. Maybe you have mail fetch on 15 minutes instead of once an hour? Regardless; the phone shouldn't drain 5 percent from 100 overnight with just 15 minutes of usage; even if that was GPS usage.

However; I have since re-enabled Siri and the drain is still gone, 4 percent overnight instead of 2 percent, but slept voor 8,5 hours instead of 7 this time.

Haven't paired the Apple Watch though.

Yes, true. Only have locations service on the weather (other apps only when i use them), backgrounds refreshing only on messenger, weather and notes. Mail notification (gmail app) on. Always Bluetooth off and wifi on when i´m home.

Yes, my thoughts exactly. It´s strange. When i look at the battery life app (which you should take with a grant of salt, but anyways), it says that the battery is in perfect condition. I don´t use Siri at all so always have that turned off. I use the Gmail-apps for mail so i don´t have that issue, either. Thanks for the advice!

Really? Most settings are off. Definitely something wrong surely, gonna give it another day and gonna phone apple. My friends iPhone 7 has 50% with 5 hours usage, only location services turned off?

I'm not even on Beta for my 7. and it's still annoying how mine still never shows Usage and Standby times.

Okey, so on friday i called the Apple support to explain the battery drain. They did a diagnostic over the phone and find nothing wrong. I talked to a senior technical adviser and he basically said that the battery life is a very subject thing, and what i described seemed normal.

In conclusion. If i still didn´t think the battery meet my expectation i could turn it in so they could examine the phone, and be without a phone one or two weeks.

Qualcomm or Intel?

My launch day 7 128gb has what I consider to be poor battery life. From a full charge and in flight mode I will lose 15% overnight.

I get 5hrs usage from charger to 1% with 17hrs standby.

Strangely it seems acceptable drain when in use but an unacceptable 2% an hour drain when in standby.

I have Siri, all location services and background app refresh off. Mail set to fetch every hour and brightness on about 25%.

I have set up as new in dfu mode.

It's an hour trip to nearest apple shop. Would it be worth the trip? Don't want to get there and be told ahh it's normal.

Mine shows standby/usage times only after it's been charged up to 100%. If you turn your iPhone off, usage afterwards will also disappear. Makes sense, in a way, but was this the same before?

charging to 100% + trickle is how I usually charge my devices. and I hardly ever turn it off. even when I fully charged and used in the same fashion my iPhone 7 Plus, 7 and SE several times before for comparison, my 7 still has never shown Usage or Standby times except for once, ever.

the Resets/Restores I have done have never helped, either. I'm over it though. I'm just living with it as-is.

Well, actually i haven't used it so much, but this Battery seems to be amazing. iOS 10.1.1, wifi always on

Very satisfied of this one's battery.
After 10h, with 2h use, I have still over 70% left.
Apple Watch connected, most of the time with wifi.
Great phone.

I would call the Apple support first and talk to them. They do a diagnostic over the phone to check the hardware. Good first step.

This is crazy, you should never have to do this, redownloading all your apps and passwords and things? lol. That's insane.

Not really...In fact it's a good idea to do every so often. Copying the same backup from phone to phone to phone can potentially cause issues down the road. Plus it's a chance to clean out all the crap that builds up, like gigabytes worth of useless text message history.

Personally, everything comes back for me anyway except i have to manually download some apps from my purchase history. not that difficult

Its not crazy, its a fact that is the first thing Apple will have you do once you go in for any type of issues you are having.
Software bugs and conflicts happen very often, if you can live with the issues, bad battery life and such problems keep restoring from the same faulty backup file.

... which Version of the modem do you have? The Intel version is supposed to be worse for battery life...

Where did you come up with this conclusion?

Before jumping to conclusions about the hardware aspect of battery life, contact apple and let them do a battery usage test. Contacted them just then and they said that I'm experiencing quite a lot of software bugs which is draining my battery. Was told to do a full restore to solve the problem, will let you all know how my battery life goes tomorrow. Going to start off from new and only download a few apps. Wish me luck! iPhone 7

Sorry for the late reply to this, I only just saw the post.
Your launch day phone sounds exactly like my launch day rotten apple which also drained 2% per hour (or around 15% over night) on standby but the battery seemed decent while actually using the phone, safari browsing etc.

I tried everything to fix it, dfu restore about 3 times, twice set up as a new phone, once set up from a back up, turned off everything I could think of, deleted apps known to drain batteries such as Facebook, logged out of iCloud but nothing worked. The final test that convinced me it was faulty hardware was when I realised it drained almost 2% per hour while SWITCHED OFF! This is the test you need to perform now, switch it off over night then see how much it drains, mine would drain around 12/13% over night switched off compared with 15% switched on. I'm guessing the 2-3% extra drain switched on is the normal iPhone overnight drain the rest is the hardware fault drain.
Went to the Genius Bar Monday morning and explained the situation (by the way sending mine off to the mail-in apple repair didn't fix the problem as it shows nothing on their diagnostic so don't bother with that if your fault is the same as mine) and they gave me a replacement phone. Couldn't be happier with this one battery life is excellent, I can get between 9 and 11 hours actual usage depending on conditions I.e cellular signal etc, and there's hardly any standby drain, it lost 2% over night with lots of notifications coming through to the phone during this time.

Do the test with the phone off and if it still drains get it replaced at the Apple Store

Does anyone get battery drain when downloading something? (ex: videos, apps, etc.)
The batteries do seem to drop quicker while downloading and saving files generally on iPhones I've noticed. I saved a load of photos from Dropbox onto my phone and the battery dropped a lot faster than say internet browsing while doing this. I would say twice as fast!

I notice that the 7 drains significantly more from internet-intensive tasks compared to my 6.
