A bit sad that the iPhone's battery has only gone up 315mAh in 8 years.
Given the improvements in performance it's actually pretty amazing.

Why a thinner phone when they battery life is so short and the phones are already too thin to hold comfortably?
2 full days between a charge for me. What "so short" battery life are you talking about?

"Guys we can remove the headphone jack and increase battery size by 14%!!!!"
Larger battery plus the even more efficient A10 would improve battery life drastically I assume. Good.
You need more than 8-10 hours?Yeah, idk about you guys, but I need a hell of a lot more than 14% more lol...
You get that too? Thought I was alone. I haven't been able to find a solution. It sucks big time!Oh good, so now my phone will turn off with 46% battery left instead of 32% like it always does. Awesome!
I get two full days out of my iPhone 6 Plus.I'm not buying another iPhone until they dramatically improve battery life. I'm tired of charging it 3x a day when using it for work.
Didn't the 6s have a smaller battery than the 6? How much of an improvement is this truly from the 6 is what I want to know.
"And the lack of a headphone jack is a 'feature'!!!!eleven!!!lll!!!l!!eleven!!!""Guys we can remove the headphone jack and increase battery size by 14%!!!!"
How does the headphone jack improve the efficiency of bluetooth headphones? I'd think bluetooth would use the same amount of power whether or not there was a vacant 3.5mm headphone jack on the phone.Too bad Bluetooth headphones will sap more power now that the headphone jack is gone.

The big problem is that battery powered headphones are more disposable to people. Once the batteries are dead and wont charge anymore people are more likley to toss them instead of replace the batteries. I am also betting there are a few non-replacable battery headphones out there. Wired headphones seem to last people years. So it will fill up the landfills. So much for Apple and its green claims.I think the reason is that the Bluetooth radio will be fully engaged (transmitting and receiving) while using Bluetooth headphones. I don't know, however, if the power to drive the 3.5mm audio jack is overall more or less than transmitting music via Bluetooth. If I had to guess, and it's a total guess, I think the energy to drive the Bluetooth radio will consume more power than sending music out via the 3.5mm jack.
I think it's likely that the iPhone will ship with a pair of wired headphones. The difference will be that they plug into the lightning port rather than the 3.5mm port.I think the reason is that the Bluetooth radio will be fully engaged (transmitting and receiving) while using Bluetooth headphones. Amazing how excited we can get about a bigger battery considering it's still less than 2,000mAh while the S7 has 3,000mAh. Still, at the end of the day, we have to wait for results.
todays battery life is something my great grand children will laugh about among 16GB of storage capacity. Aint it?
14% is pathetic.Yeah, idk about you guys, but I need a hell of a lot more than 14% more lol...
My point is 14% increase in capacity is great but if that translates into the usage times of the iPhone SE or more it will make for a worthwhile upgrade. The Benchmark are 8% more battery life on their biggest phone compared to the 6s+, what you'd expect for a 8% bigger battery. So, what's your point?
Usage of phones is much more intense these days and that's why people complain about battery.
Battery life of devices have mostly gone up with time.
Too bad Bluetooth headphones will sap more power now that the headphone jack is gone.
Typical response. I actually use my phone for work. My typical 2 days involves around 4-4.5 hours each day of usage time on my phone, primarily in Safari (connecting to corporate servers to access & download documents), e-mail, iMessage and phone calls. Take off charge at 6:00am on Monday and down to 10% by 11:00pm Tuesday for a total of 8-9 hours usage and the rest in standby.Sounds like someone has an expensive gadget they don't use.
Not sure what you do with your phone then. Less than 90 minutes of game playing will take mine from 100% to 10%. It will not even get through a day of light web browsing. During the day, my phone is also my primary internet hotspot, and if it wasn't plugged in, I'd drain the battery 3 times over during a day.
And you still ignored my question. Clearly a lot of people can't get through the day on a charge. Why *not* improve the battery rather than making the phone thinner?
