but the writer claims this falls short of the new trackpads, of which I own the new trackpad. It works great but if the writer claims it falls short, then Apple failed.

Would most of us not prefer way better quality photos for multipurpose from a dual lens setup?

But Nilay used to be the biggest fanboy ever for years.

You're asking why would anyone ever want optical zoom? It's one of the sorely missed features from phone cameras. Also, hopefully developers are able to access both cameras in a useful way- maybe there will be some third party apps that can do some things with them that Apple isn't.
There is a limit to what you can do in a phone. Because of physics and optics. So, WTH do you want?
There is no miracle; better single lens photo requires all sorts of weird optical tricks (with lenses, sensors), computational photography and ultimately a thicker phone (if all else fails). Phones are pretty much at the limit; having greater resolution has impact on other factors such as low light photography. There is a tradeoff.

Well, its not been the case in the last 2 years, not at all.
And considering the only place were it "fell behind" is photo (this year) and possible screen (last 18 months) you're own bias is showing. It was still ahead using plenty of other metrics.

I just told my sister who owns a Galaxy S7..look the iPhone 7 just came out and your camera from the S7 it's better than the one from the iPhone 7 xD! I got admit they added some intersting stuff to the camera but when it comes to photo quality..the S7 wins!

I am not an apple hater, or troll. I am quite a fan.
But there is always something. Like the ipad mini 4 had the same soc as the air 2 according to Phil last year. It didn' t.
And i said, i was afraid. The dac in the iphone 6s is more expensive than the $9 adapter. That' s all.
Let me put it this way: it is not apple like to offer accessories below the BOM.

Me too. QC20 wired earbuds, which still amaze me. But with wireless, the electronics & battery will require something annoying hanging on your neck. Actually, last time I checked, Samsung products run Android. Hate to rain on your over-hyped and glorified list of misleading specs, but in the interest of... you know... actual usage:
Really? Then don't buy Airpods or Beats. Use your own wired headphones or the ones that come with the phone. Or any other Bluetooth wireless headphone/pods.

Since they are talking about sales and you can buy wired headphones for $2, there might be more wired headphones sold, but bluetooth is king for sales in the US.
They key line is wired headphones grew by 7% for the first 6 months of 2016 while bluetooth grew 42% in the same timeframe. Bluetooth is definitely what is growing while wired is nowhere close to the growth. Bluetooth basically has the chart for apple stock for the past 20 years while wired has the chart of a stock you want to get out of unless you are retiring.
Seriously, I can see both arguments, but Bluetooth is definitely the only way to go for me. I still have wired headphones but they are gathering dust. I have Bose QC35's which is bluetooth but also has a wired connection you can use if the battery is dead. I hate wired headphones - the wires always get in the way and they are not meant for people who workout (run, weightlifting, etc).
However, its not an argument to whine about for 1000's of posts. Don't upgrade if you need the 3.5mm jack or go to Samsung. You will come back. My daughter works at an AT&T retail store selling phones. She said the the Samsung Galaxy phones are the most often returned phone by as much as 4:1 ratio and has been that way for many many years. And think about the rush Samsung keeps doing to get their phones out before Apple. The new phone explodes. They say it only impacts .01 or .1% of phones, but if that was true, it doesn't explain why they are recalling every single phone unless they have no idea which phones have the problem. That is a serious problem. However, their biggest problem is malware, bloatware, poor performance.
