We don't want docks or adapters. The adapters died out for a reason earlier.Get the lightning dock. Or the Belkin adapter. There are options.
Why would we want that back?

Actually I purchased a 15" MBP fully loaded 4 months prior to the MBP with the new track pad. Night and day when it comes to performanceHave you tried the new trackpads? They are completely convincing.
You're going to lose those AirPods almost immediately. I hope they sell single-ear replacements.
Sorry if this has been discussed already, just trying to catch up. Can anyone please point me to any reviews of the sound quality via airpods and particularly via lightning/3.5 jack adapter? I'm desperately hoping it's not apple against the music. ...
It's nice to know the headphone jack adapter is only $9 by itself. For all of the rumors and hysteria that the adapters could cost $30 or more, I think Apple did a sufficient job today of quelling those fears.
I do wish they'd added a pass-through Lightning port to offer charging and playback simultaneously, however.
Yeah, so.... it comes w/ an adapter & new ones are only $9. You can use ANY studiophile/audiophile headset with no worries.
There is no anything vs. anything. There is only us enjoying our music as we always have...
No need to try to make a "thing" out of it.
just asking mate, not trying to make a thing out of it - I begin with the hypothesis wireless>loss of quality, adapter>loss of quality so I've only asked for evidence to reject itany pointers welcome. ps reason 2 is I've just spent a lot of money on a new AKG set...
Also realizing that we won't be able to plug our new headphones into our laptops.
If you want a good laugh, have a look at this:
Ok ok, if you do infact want a good laugh, then watch this instead then.Ummm.... false advertising!!!!
That wasn't a "good laugh"; that wasn't even a dry chuckle.
That was the laziest attempt at humor I've seen in a long time.

read what you get with the phone then comment.
Apple products have done extremely well for me, over the last 10 years or so. They have built a great eco system where their products talk well to each other. For the first time in about 10 years I had one problem with my last iPhone, and they replaced the phone immediately without question. I find their products to be VERY dependable and I AGREE, that the future is wireless. So removing the headphone jack to allow more space for 2 speakers and larger battery makes perfect sense to me. If you do not like the direction they are going, go buy a Samsung or something...no wait, those phones are exploding. Oh well....it is like gay marriage...if you don't like it....DON'T GET ONE!!!Sorry.. So there are two speakers in the bottom now?
No..
Believe anything apple tells you to without thought.
