I don't believe that, iPhone 6s was probably the most popular smartphone in 2015, but 2016 belongs to S7 Edge
My prediction: the Galaxy S7 Edge it's the best selling smartphone in 2016, it should be! unless Samsung it's having supply problems keeping up with the demand? If is true? that's bad! because its Samsung...that means will be a problem for Apple too! next year with the iPhone 8

Has anyone else noted the twin speaker grills on the bottom? Remember the rumours Apple were going to replace the headphone jack with fake speaker holes.... Let's see what ifixit finds behind those grills... If it's nothing then Apple really has reached an all time new low.

They damn well better have put a speaker behind one and microphone behind the other!

I was so ready to order a 6S at a discounted price and now they gone and made the 7 waterproof and rly, rly quick.

Damn, what to do.

I don't recall anyone laughing at NFC chips. I do recall people laughing at the idiotic things that Android OEMs did with them, like bumping phones together. As for co-processors and barometers, they hardly sound like targets for mirth. Do you have any examples of this being widespread? A popular, "A co-processor and and barometer walk into a bar..." joke perhaps?

Well, Samsung was the first company to use a co-processor (they called it a sensor hub). Apple adopted the same approach a year later with their M7 co-processor. They made a big fuss about it at their iPhone introduction event. iPhones got barometers starting from iPhone 6. Barometer is useful for altimeter (fitness and faster GPS lock time).

And when Android phones were using NFC and iPhone did not have one, some Apple fans here were claiming that iBeacon was a much better technology (really). Here is a quote:

"This all sounds really stinkin' cool. iBeacons seem to have much wider applications than NFC. What happens when the iPhone becomes the phone that interacts with our world around us? Pretty sweet marketable "feature" I'd imagine."

Right where you said they'd fall out of your ear into Mount Doom or whatever. Since you clearly have no interest in buying them one is forced to assume you think they will be forced on you

Do they teach this "style" of reading comprehension in schools these days, or...?

What you're doing, ignoring the point, then substituting it with one of your own and arguing against it, used to be taught as a most obvious logical fallacy.

So who was making fun of it? Did your teeth seem wobbly and did you have a sudden realization you were wearing no trousers during this incident?

The quote you chose doesn't seem to "make fun" of NFC at all. iBeacons did indeed have much wider applications than NFC, mainly due to having much wider range than NFC. Of course iBeacon crashed and burned in the marketplace. Can't remember the last time I heard anyone even mention it.

What style would that be? In any case, since it's been 17 years since I left university it'd be hard for me to say.

Have a look back at the shot in the OP of the thread. to repeat it:

The difference however, between Jet Black and the original black on, say the 5, 4s, and lower, is obviously the gloss on the finish of the older phones. Those would be more susceptible to scratches than Jet Black, which definitely looks similar to the Mac Pro. In terms of fingerprints, I'd say that Jet Black would be better. In terms of scratches, try to scratch a Mac Pro and see what happens. If the same can be done on Black, then even push.

BL.

Exactly. Verbatim what I wrote in a previous post from testing.

I honestly was pretty surprised by how well they presented the new phones. I wasn't even considering the new phones, but after seeing what that 7 Plus camera can do, I may have to get it. I'm going to wait till I can get my hands on one in store just to see how well it really does, but I'm seriously considering joining the apple upgrade program now

I still don't understand why an iPhone 7 Plug 256G ($1569.00) when purchased without a phone contract in Australia is worth only $80 dollars less than an iPad Pro 12.9 Inch 256G ($1664.00).

With these prices, I am not sure I would be bothered by this particular peculiarity.

Has it? Whenever I pass retailers I get an icon on my home screen; an app isn't doing it (as I've locked to location services unless using the app) & location services is off, what's that then?

The name of the feature escapes me, but it doesn't require (though it can be aided by) beacons. Are you sure you have Location Based Alerts, Location Based Ads and Location-Based Suggestions all off? If so then, yes, could be beacons.

By the way, I didn't actually say there are no beacons in the wild, just that it never really took off.

Whoa, slow your roll, boy. It's a joke. You know, "funny", "haha". Before you go there, I'm a gay guy so don't make something out of nothing.

Breathe....
I had no doubt about you being gay, but possibly the german sense of humour didn't translate that well....
Remember funny and haha.....

As somebody who lives in Japan I can say this iPhone will find lots of customers here thanks to FeliCa support.
I will be one of them!
And I don't care about that headphone jack, I will buy those AirPods!

The Verge are massive Apple fan boys.
Think what they were implying is that if even they say it's awful..
[doublepost=1473289822][/doublepost]
True...
Is it equal I wonder?
[doublepost=1473289957][/doublepost]
Neither did Apple think of it...

Yes, it is tue.
But i am really worried about the quality of the dac in the adapter.
It would be just like apple to put in a low quality dac in thee adapter.

Next: " adaptergate"

I think this just is something for people to get used too. Like when people complained about the lack of real buttons for texting and how weird and wrong it felt. But very quickly got over it and killed physical keyboard phones.
This is the same thing. Within 3 years no high end phone will have a physical home button at all.
I'm just surprised the volume buttons and sleep/wake button aren't also capacitive.
I don't know. I had a Nokia 1520 from 2013-2015 and it's fake buttons were awful. One of the biggest features that I regained from switching back to an iPhone 6S Plus last fall.

Have you tried the new trackpads? They are completely convincing.
but the writer claims this falls short of the new trackpads, of which I own the new trackpad. It works great but if the writer claims it falls short, then Apple failed.
