Actually the S6 has the more accurate colours in Basic mode but knowing that the other modes are more punchy, using Basic makes the screen look dull in comparison. If Basic was the only mode available, we'd get used to it. Also for some reason, truer colours look more pleasing on LCD vs AMOLED for some reason. Kinda like Plasma vs LCD where plasma always looked more realistic but less punchy!
Remember the Nexus 5? It had one of the more accurate displays of its day but people complained that it lacked contrast and looked washed out. I loved my Nexus 5 cause the photos I took and processed off my DSLR always looked close to what it looked like on my colour calibrated monitor.
Honestly I dont know about that "Truer colors" stuff much but the screen on the Samsung S6 really makes the 6 look antiquated. Its visible even in these photos.Just look how pleasing and warm the screen on the S6 is.Even the pictures are sharper.

After looking this comparison (posted yet again), there is no doubt the i6 shows truer colors. I'm really surprised you believe the samsung display to be superior. Oh well, this is a forum of opinions. Makes me cherish my 6s even more.

I guess "truer" colors is just a description for a dim screen because thats all I see tbh.The iPhone screen is good, dont get me wrong. But it cant compete with top tier OLEDs

I guess vibrant is a synonym for over-saturated because that is all I see when I look at the "comparison". The samsung screen is good, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't have the fidelity of the iphone screens; which is why apple has chosen not use it in their models.

So you really believe that the displays Samsung is gonna supply Apple in 2018 ( a mere 2 years from now the production of which will already beginning somewhere in 2017 for the huge capacity Apple requires) will be some magical OLEDs which they have never produced before specially for Apple eh?Good luck

which is why apple has chosen not use it in their models.
Or maybe its because OLEDs cost more to produce than LCDs which affects Apple's profits which is their sole concern

The latter is what's keeping Apple from switching to OLED screens, without a doubt.

That's why much of the internals from the 5s remained the same in the 6, since the bigger size and display cost them more to produce and they had to save money somewhere.

What mode is the screen set to?
It has to be on Basic or Photo to be comparable.
Side by side my S6 looks better but not by a crazy amount unless we are comparing blacks.

Or maybe quality is the bigger concern. Without quality apples reputation goes down the tubes.

As far as the "profit motive" being the sole measure of what apple does, I thought you understood Peter Drucker 101. If not give it a go on the web.

As far as OLED, actually I don't believe anything, it's you mentioned 2018. All I said, was apple wasn't about to jeopardize the quality of it's iphone by using hardware not ready for prime time.

It may be YOUR s6 looks better, but these photos the s6 is clearly the runner up.

Ah, except for the NFC chip, processor, camera and memory. Everything else was the same.o_O

I'll give you the NFC chip, but the A8 processor has been the weakest year-over-year improvement other than the A4. The camera didn't change much from the 5s, just like the 5's stayed basically the same as the 4s's, and the RAM stayed at 1GB for the second year in a row.

I should say not the "same", but definitely not improvements worth of being called "improvements", those came until the 6s.

But...the bolded could be said from the 5 to 5S. The 6 was an in-between phone. It was an update over the 5s, but apples first attempt at a larger form-factor. That, in and of itself was the massive improvement.

Companies who focus on profits to the exclusion of their customers end up out of business. Serving your customers while paying attention to the financials is the recipe for success.

I would argue that if you take away the larger screen, the 5s was a bigger improvement over the 5 than the 6 was over the 5s. It did bring 64-bit processing with 2x CPU/GPU power, better low-light capabilities, Touch-ID, and faster DDR3 RAM.

What I'm trying to say is that the 6 was like a one-time thing: the bigger body and screen did have some impact in their cost. Now that they don't have to build a bigger phone with the iPhone 7, I want to see a bigger leap from the 6s to the 7 (tech-wise) than the 6 was from the 5s. None of this having to wait for the "S" model for significant camera improvements, for example.

Basically apples progression of models through the years doesn't jive with your vision of what they should have done. There never will be a be-all end-all iPhone for eternity; you decide on what model you want to buy and how long to keep it. An iPhone model is relevant for a few months (which is longer than the competitors) if that.

That's a good point. That's why I like the yearly upgrade programs :)

The iPhone 7 needs to have a 1080P screen, and the 7 Plus needs to have a 1440P screen.

This same rule applies for Samsung's flagships. You think Apple's rival doesnt focus on quality?Samsung is apart from Apple the only manufacturer with minute attention to details in their design. The S6 Edge is one beautifully designed phone.

As far as the "profit motive" being the sole measure of what apple does, I thought you understood Peter Drucker 101. If not give it a go on the web.
If profit is NOT the motive here why is Apple the only manufacturer to offer a 10GB iPhone variant for their flagship? Why is Apple still sticking to 720P on their flagship?

Its a fact.Samsung is beginning production of AMOLED panels for Apple in Q4 2016.

http://www.androidauthority.com/iphone-7-flexible-oled-display-samsung-667627/

So according to you, that's gonna be a well balanced "truer" color OLED panel which is superior to one on the S7 right?

Not really. /the end

Here are some FACTS which prove you are wrong. One of the tests in question are done by professionals at DisplayMate

http://gizmodo.com/the-samsung-galaxy-s6-has-the-best-smartphone-display-y-1690515387
http://www.displaymate.com/Galaxy_S6_ShootOut_1.htm#Comparison

The Galaxy S6 delivers uniformly consistent all around Top Tier display performance: it is only the second smartphone display to ever get all Green (Very Good to Excellent) Ratings in all test and measurement categories (except for a single Yellow in the Brightness Variation with Average Picture Level) since we started the Display Technology Shoot-Out article Series in 2006, an impressive achievement for a display. The first display to achieve that was the Galaxy Note 4.

The Galaxy S6 is in fact 23 percent more power efficient than the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus for mixed image content (that includes text together with photos, videos, and movies, for example) with a typical 50 percent Average Picture Level, APL

And this is why you opinion on why OLED isnt ready for primetime is invalid and also why the iPhone :

LCDs and OLEDs are the two leading mobile display technologies. The technologies are significantly different and each one has its own inherent strengths – and both continue to evolve and improve independently.

We recently evaluated and rated the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus as the currentBest Mobile LCD Displays, while the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 4 are the current Best Mobile OLED Displays. All are impressive and excellent displays with great state-of-the-art display technology. However, OLED displays have been advancing at a relentless and fast pace with a constant series of systematic and strategic improvements, while LCDs have been coasting on their laurels for years. So although OLEDs started from behind in 2010 they have now pulled ahead on performance and innovation based on the Lab test and measurement results reported here. To get back in the game and become more competitive, LCDs will need to adopt Quantum Dots and Dynamic Color Management.

The Galaxy S6 has more than double the resolution and more than 4 times the number of pixels as the iPhone 6. It also has significantly higher peak Brightness, significantly higher Contrast Ratio in both low and high Ambient Light, significantly higher Absolute Color Accuracy, significantly better Viewing Angel performance, and has 4 selectable screen modes instead of a single fixed one on the iPhones.

TLDR: The S6 and the upcoming S7 will have the best displays on the planet.Samsung's prowess in the display department in unmatched despite their various other flaws

Tl;dr bottom line. iPhone display has better reproduction and fidelity. As far as the s6 edge is even harder to hold than the iPhone that you claim is difficult to pick up.

Now let's get back to the topic at hand.

With regard to profit and how to run a business it seems you may want to read up on "how to run a business" so you understand when profit trumps service businesses fail and Apple is flying high.

Did you even read the article? Its specifically stated that the S6 has higher color accuracy and the best smartphone display ever.Mathematically proven.I am done here.Nothing can be done with pure denial of facts

And the S6 has chamfered edges so its still easier to hold than the iPhone.

My eyes do not like their display and your comparison pictures only further my opinion.

That's your opinion and it's fine but factually the S6 display is better and is going to be used by Apple in their next iPhone like it or not .

That could be wash out on the camera exposure, not necessary wash out on the Samsung display.

OLED has darker black so it is more easier to wash out when taking picture from normal camera.
You could use a pro Nikon D4 or Cannon 1D camera, focus on the black portion of display, and white portion could wash out.

Added: Plus Samsung S6 color is normally very saturated, so that will be easier cause normal camera to capture a wash out photo, but display itself might not wash out. It is like a white dog on the green grass under bright sunlight, it is very very easy to capture wash out white dog photo.
