It is not clear why those rumors were circulating in the first place
I honestly don't care. My next purchase will be a 7 Pro as long as the camera BLOWS me away.
Apple knows that without a new form factor - they are going to struggle to generate sales on this newer model.
Therefore - a new color or model with a better camera will be present to try and boost them. This is why we always see "S" models get the new colors. It's a refresh to make something old look new.
Agreed. I'm going to have to perform some independent research but I am heavily considering moving to an Android device this year.Think I'm gonna pass on the iPhone 7 and iPhone altogether. Hardly much of a design change from my iPhone 6 Plus and iOS 10 has been very disappointing. I was really hoping for a killer from Apple seeing as it's a new number iteration for the iPhone and their 10th iOS release.
Kind of puts me in mind of what the Moto Z offers. (The dots on the bottom of the back of the phone are connectors for battery packs, improved speakers, etc., all without adding to the length of the phone)7 Plus with a Smart Connector that will allow me to add a battery pack without adding to the length of the device would be amazing.

People that want the best camera in their phone as possible. Probably goes up to 512 GB too.Honest question: who needs a "pro" iPhone? Is an iPhone 6S, for example, not a professional device?

I wouldn't put it past them -that would be a major up-sell - 256GB+double camera+smart connect = $ 1099 (priceless)Apple is really struggling with these phones.. i mean.. desperate.. PRO? wtf? ..
... and a bigger screen. So if you don't want a huge-ass phone you're basically screwed. Your choices are then as followed:I think you might be on to something. I could conceive of a reality in which Apple positions the "standard" iPhone as equivalent to the new MacBook with a "pro" alternative that has more connectivity.
