Screw the headphone jack, where's the freaking mute switch? I can live without a headphone jack but not without a mute switch.

Actually, I thought about that a while ago. They might remove it so you're able to mute the phone by using Siri. And they can add a mute button to the control bar.
Would be okay for me.

Yeah go on describing what a perferct cash cow Apple ist and how any other company tries to copy their way.
And then please describe how you´d ruin all that for the sake of cheaper prices.
You are a socialists that wants to play with the capitalist toys but the world is not like that.

Posting while intoxicated is generally bad.

I'm torn on these leaked photos...

On one hand I kind of selfishly hope they're all true, along with the technical rumours like no headphone jack, because it would make me very very comfortable with choice of buying an SE.

On the other hand I would love it it Apple were messing with everyone and released a truly shockingly new iPhone this year. But I think that that might be beyond the control of even Apple, just because there would have been more rumours about that by now.

Honestly I'd far prefer the latter, as I love my SE regardless, and I do want to Apple to succeed, and I think if all the difference with the iPhone 7 (or whatver they call it) is the usual slightly better camera and faster CPU/GPU updates whilst removing the headphone jack... then that would surely be the most disappointing new iPhone launch ever.

Agreed. And muting by Siri - in order to stop the phone making a noise, I have to make a noise?

That's why I said they can add a mute button to the control bar.
But as long as there is a physical switch, you'll never be able to use Siri to mute the phone. And as we all know, Apple loves Siri.

I don't think it was ever Apple's intention to make a huge design change. But with sales taking a dump they have to address a new design(?) in 2017. Remember they start working on changes 18-24 months before anything is ever released. Regardless of leaked images I think this year is a 32GB, upgraded camera, water-resistant, stereo speaker design. We will know in about 7-8 weeks.

all they need to get rid of mute button in all iphones is to implement configurable control bar (drop menu from the bottom). Why Android and jailbreak have it and official beta iOS10 is still not in 2016 ?!
iPhone 7 pro is a new iPad mini?

Forget the physical case design, the big changes for the 7 are going to be updated screen and camera, new headphones and jack and of course faster and more efficient chip.

Changing the shape of the case just to make it "new" doesn't make sense and when you basically have a rectangular screen dictating the shape of the phone, there isn't much else you can do with the case design. Sharp edge or 90 degree corners don't change the basic premise that it's a phone shaped like a phone.

Next year we will likely see a shift to new materials, but the basic shape will remain the same.

There is still time to have something pulled out of the bag! Perhaps some sort of awesome VR functionality

No mute button.
No headphone jack.
No design. (Why is this camera sticking out again????????)
No buy for me.

I agree that making a new "look" for the iPhone isn't necessary nor will it personally affect my decision on buying the new phone (the other features will).

But I can't agree that there isn't much else you can do with the case design. Not when other companies are making some cool-looking phone designs. I refuse to believe that after only 5 phone designs, Apple is fresh out of ideas on how to design their flagship product.

No, it's not super important, but I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting a new look for an annually-updated device that's already had its current design for 2 years. Especially when I personally think that the 6's design isn't really appealing.

If this is even close to what the 7 is going to be and if they got rid of the analog headphone jack to make the phone thinner, they why does the camera stick out so far. WOW, is that ugly. I get that these are mock ups, but man, NO THANK YOU on this version of the iPhone, I will just keep my 6s Plus.
