Too many inconsistency between "spy shots" for all these to be correct. This leads me to believe no one knows and are just throwing out random mock ups with parts and pieces of previous rumors for page clicks.

Don't be silly. Look up sales numbers , let's stick to facts.

Damn this phone is ugly. I have no doubt this is the next iPhone but strewth Apple, please get back to creating beautiful technology.

Having said that, prob nothing a decent case can't hide.
I agree that making a new "look" for the iPhone isn't necessary nor will it personally affect my decision on buying the new phone (the other features will).

But I can't agree that there isn't much else you can do with the case design. Not when other companies are making some cool-looking phone designs. I refuse to believe that after only 5 phone designs, Apple is fresh out of ideas on how to design their flagship product.

No, it's not super important, but I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting a new look for an annually-updated device that's already had its current design for 2 years. Especially when I personally think that the 6's design isn't really appealing.

Well said champ. Agreed. Disappointing that apples best and brightest just rehashed the current form.

Where to from here, Metal back, thinner, all glass/screen front. I'm assuming the dropping of the mute switch and headphone jack is setting us up for a thin arse phone in the near future.

Where is the mute switch?!
The new iPad Pro has no mute switch. That's now controlled through software (by swiping up for the control panel). Maybe the new phones are following the same pattern.

Maybe it's just me, but those mock-ups look terrible, especially the 5.5 inch version. I think it's mainly the camera warts. Apple couldn't find an alternative to them, with all their resources?

yup, between yesterday and today's "leaks" the cameras aren't even in the same spot. "eagle eyed readers" indeed...

I really hope Apple are throwing lots of false information out there -- then when they finally release it, each handset will have the same specifications and features, regardless of size, and doesn't make it confusing as Hell for the consumer.

Hmm... :(
Yeah right...they've got to put some feature into the bigger sizes to justify that extra $$ and the perception that you're buying the "elite" model.

If this carries on it's time to get comfortable with the thought of Android as a daily driver.
I can get a second-grade UX for much less than what Apple is offering and the replacement phone when the warranty doesn't cover my ass is probably even cheaper than an out-of-warranty repair with Apple...

There's still a lot keeping me attached to iOS, but the more I read about the direction Apple may be headed, the less I feel whatever I felt with old Apple.
And it's not nostalgia, it's that I don't think anymore that Apple gets me. They may get a lot of other customers, but what's that worth?
Nilch, I have to make buying decisions for myself and only myself.

I still think these are controlled leaks and apple is screwing with us.

Every year since 2011 people say the same thing, every year we're disappointed to find out that yes, this thing really is the next iPhone.

Jony Ive is like the dad that grew up partying in the 70's, he had the moustache and funky long hair, the flowery shirt and flares - now years on he's still wearing those flares, still has the moustache, the hair has receded but he's still trying to hold on to the past... That's what Jony Ive is to the design world. He's basically a pretty poor designer who had someone with vision telling him what to do, now that person is gone it's become pretty obvious he hasn't got a clue but is still trying desperately to hang on to that former glory.

I really mean it. This design is just poor, no effort, any average designer could have done better - but it's what we're getting from the richest company in the world with endless resources...

I skipped iPhone 6 and 6s due to their design and waited for 7. Disappointed with this rumored iPhone 7. Looks like that I have stick to my iPhone 5s for one more year(2017).

I won't buy those versions since I prefer the 4 inch form factor.

But the device look prettier with antenna bands on sides. Clean and neat IMHO. I know the protruding camera is annoying but look at the bright side; you'll never end up with your finger covering the camera!

It does look like controlled leaks. Show us the bottom!

Such a connector is designed to provide power and a data connection to accessories like keyboards, at least on the iPad Pro, but it's not entirely clear what its purpose would be on a 5.5-inch handset.

I thought it was pretty obvious that the smart connector would be used for battery cases so you don't have to plug it into the bottom making the case bulky. Could also be used for cases with keyboards, flash storage and gaming controllers.

I agree with this. I think Apple could be heading into dark territory... Buying an iPhone has always been easy and hassle-free experience for the consumer in terms of options and pricing. It's one of the iPhone's hallmarks, and what made it so popular in the first place. It was always just, "Hey I got the new iPhone!" - not, "Hey I got the new iPhone 4SXP37! No no no... the 5.5in!"

I would be willing to bet that many consumers would feel overwhelmed trying to buy the next iPhone if Apple starts delineating specs from screen size.

That Nubia Z11 is gorgeous (except antenna bands, but it's not like iPhone is much better in this department). One thing I dislike about it is fingerprint reader location... and it's not water/dustproof. But I love the front. And of course it's got a SD slot.

My bet is that the double camera thing is actually called iPad Pro Mini SE.

Jesus that 7 Plus camera looks hideous. I seriously hope it's missing a fancy bezel ring or something.

I'll still be buying one though. It'll be time to move on from my old 5S.

even huawei can make it look better than these dualcam leaks...

iPhone doesn't need a mute switch really if it's added in the Notification Center at the bottom. If it isn't;t there then where will it be unmuted

I'm not saying there isn't anything they can do design-wise for the case, but it isn't going to be some ground-breaking thing (the wow factor a lot of people expect from Apple), because Apple, like every other manufacturer, is working with the same basic rectangular shape dictated by the screen (and frankly by how the market has designed web pages, email, apps, etc.).

So Apple could go back to sharper edges and / or non-rounded corners, but there is not much else you can do. And the idea of having the screen roll over the edge makes no real sense, unless you're looking at eliminating any physical buttons and replacing them with touch sensitive on-screen inputs, but that can just as easily be done with flat edge case designs.

Of course, Apple (or any other manufacturer) could design a square phone (Blackberry) or a round case design, but doing so would only be to differentiate, as neither square nor round shapes are conducive to how we design, view and interact with websites, emails, etc.

It's the same thing really. .. android phones have mute in the shade and it works fine. The mute switch is a waste of space honestly. Plus as someone else said, their beloved siri can't mute the phone if the physical switch is still "unmuted"

Give it up already. It's old. He's dead. Deal with it.

Whilst I agree people need to move on and accept Jobs is dead and gone, I think someone should take over from Tim Cook. I'm not sure I like his Apple but can't see him going anywhere anytime soon.

iPhone 6se?
You people are RIDICULOUS. Your troll nonsense knows no bounds. WHY DOES THE PHONE HAVE TO LOOK 100% DIFFERENT TO BE CONSIDERED NEW?

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF AINT BROKE DONT FIX?!

You mean the Apple that has made more money than it ever did under Steve? Yeah that Tim Cook and his ridiculous success!
