You mean you don't doubt them now? Selling 2 years old hardware at today's price (computers) selling 3 years old design phones (iPhone SE and rumored iPhone 7) Selling 3 years old Top of the line Mac Pro .....I could go on...
??? You do understand that the only thing '3 years old' about the phone would be the shape, and essentially the changes in shape are pretty much a moot point now. The shape of the smart phone (by anyone) is pretty much set now.
But if your whole raison d'etre is to make sure everyone can tell you got a new phone, then I guess its important to you.

So the biggest question is "will it have a headphone jack" and than guess what...they don't make a picture of the bottom
Yes, odd that isn't it? Its never been hard to see the hand of Apple behind at least some iPhone or Mac new model leaks. But the pics "leaked" over the past few days make the whole thing seem a bit too obviously managed.

See, these are what you call negative qualities. Negative qualities don't yield runaway success. If any of these things were true, their success would not be.

I think you're wrong. I think a company can be all of those things and still be very successful. It's mostly because Apple has built customer loyalty and a reputation that's left over from the Jobs period. They're still riding the wave but it will fall if they don't build more momentum. Things are slowing already.

Thanks for providing Jon the ideas of the next iPhone. It will be these rumor designers that will be doing the work for him.

One of these many reported pictures is a fake and my reasoning is that the camera bump on the smaller iPhone 7 is different. On some of the images the camera bump is a smooth aluminium curve up to a large hole. However in this potential leak the camera is cleary larger but is the stainless steel ring found on the current gen.

The larger phone in this leak is a bit odd looking with a recessed apple logo. The front looks super legit though with a home button that looks how i'd imagine it's tapic version would be vs current button and i can't see anyone mocking it up just for kicks.

I still think the design should have been better with colour matched antenna lines, surely we can match metal by now and make it the same texture etc.

I really would have like to see a gloss finish on the iPhone, metal but lacquered would look amazing and make it tougher i'm sure.

I'm also hoping, though it's impossible to see in these is that the OLED screen goes all the way to the edges on the sides. The galaxy edge is almost bezel-less and i'm sure apple could do one better this year. Lets hope.

Don't care about the headphone jack, but no mute button?! That would be awful.

If that horrid camera on the iPhone 7 Plus ends up being real, it'll be a fact—Jony Ive needs to be replaced. Urgently.

And killing the ringer switch makes no frigging sense at all. Now THAT would be stupid.

No worries, I'm sure there'll be an accessory for just $19.99 with a ringer switch :D:rolleyes:

wether the duel camera looks goods or not if it makes the camera a complete beast then it's all good for me

I was about to sell my iPhone 6 before seeing this... I think I will wait another cycle anyway most of the apps are perfectly optimised, no iPhone 7 for me this year.

He's made the company boring, ever more greedy, and the products disappointingly predictable. He's playing the company safe and merely keeping it chugging along rather than making any attempt to be at the forefront of technology that Steve Jobs' Apple was. Just how I see it. But I'm not dumb enough to think Tim Cook is going anywhere anytime soon.

He's made? You really believe Cook is leading Apple's creative??? Are you serious?

I mean Steve's handpicked team starting with Jony all the way down are literally (almost all of them) still there.. So you *think* Cook dumbs them all down and dictates direction? Really?

Show me one time, in ANY interview that Cook demonstrates that he is behind the decision or creative process at Apple.

Your kidding right? Right.

Calm down sister! Chill....put the Apple Kool aid down.

Guess you did not even read my signature missy, or you would have seen that I don't care about having the latest thank you very much!

P.S.
We are talking about a company who makes a lot of fuss about design aren't we?

P.S. 2
If it was any other company giving the same design for 3 years you'd be laughing your a** off yelling how ridiculous they are..... so please be serious and remove the salami in your eyes!

I really could see the camera and battery becoming accessory items due to the relentless press of "thinner" above all else.
The new Kindle Oasis has a similar design:
  • A comparably small battery in the core device to make it light and thin when in use.
  • A bigger battery in the mandatory case, reloading the Kindle every time it's put back into the case.
  • Case design is made for easy access, i.e. with magnets and pogo pins.
Works surprisingly well!

why would Apple expect us to spend hundreds of dollars on a gap filler product?
Perhaps because what you call a "gap filler product", could also be considered a refined iteration without the toothing issues inherent to every radically new design of tech products.

So people who don't like to be guinea pigs for the completely changed 10-year anniversary "everything is new"-iPhone, may opt to stick with a proven design that also brings some more evolutionary features.

Well I went to Samsung Note series after the iPhone 4 and I'm looking to go back to iPhone for a bit. At this rate, it makes more sense for me to just get the 6s after this phone comes out in september since it will be reduced price.
If price is your main driver, the iPhone 6 (without the "s") is still available at even lower prices (and probably will continue to be available some time after the iPhone 7 introduction).

Unless Apple has some killer wireless charging option on the 7, what's the point for people like me who just want to be back on iOS?
I'm sure the 7 will offer some technical / feature improvements over the 6s. Whether they are relevant for a potential customer, is rather individual. As said above, a non-"s" 6 may be sufficient for you as well. It even offers better battery time over the 6s iirc.

It's gonna be pretty hard to do that with it in your pocket.

That's not the only thing that's hard to do in your pocket.

Can't do that in a meeting. Need to be able to mute the phone in my pocket without looking at the screen.

Mute before meeting. Problem solved, rude to let it ring regardless if you can mute quickly or not.

the 4.7" camera ring is better than the 6 and 6s. no ugly lines and better camera ring, it should be iphone 6 in the first place.

Can the person taking the photos take a photo of each side? Really how god damn hard is it?

I guarantee he has last say on products that get made.

So young and ignorant. So sad. :apple:
Lol please. Get over yourself. First off you have no clue how old I am. Second of all I find it more sad that some people can't get over the death of a CEO from 5 years ago and still haven't moved on. So sad and pathetic. But sure, keep dreaming about Steve, maybe you can resurrect him like Jesus!

Sound advice.. However, from comments on here and articles like this http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonk...s-iphone-6-whats-the-difference/#26d2cc953da5 , I would probably be content with paying a bit more for the 6s. I will wait to see what is presented in September, but I don't think the improved camera will have much relevance for me. Of course, there's the rumor that the 7 will come with more memory than the previous gens for the same price.

I do for scheduled meetings, its the impromptu meetings when people start talking to you, its more rude to pull out your phone look at it for a while an put it back, rather than just reaching in your pocket and flipping a switch. Also the benefit of being able to tell if its muted or not be just feeling the phone is a huge plus.
