I just saw availability for the 256 7+ JB at a store 45mins from me. But just realised that if i were to cancel my IUP order, i would need to go to the store and have my credit hard checked again. Spoke to customer service and said that's the only way. Cancel my current order, wait 24 hours, then head in store and get it.

Are they stupid or something? Cancel my order that i've been waiting for since 9/9 and take the risk that they phone may or may not be available in 24 hours?!?!?!

WTF APPLE!!!!! this is seriously the worst purchasing experience i've had in a long time!

Called Apple to see what's up- told me that Apple stores are getting their order shipments. That Apple online and Apple stores are two different departments. Basically next time wait to get in store. Wtf.

i said the same thing to the customer rep:

    apple CSR: Because the queue is different from the pre-orders and from orders placed after 9/16, which is when the phone became available to everyone.
why would you even open up a stupid pre-order if you have to wait longer than walk-in customers?!?!?!?!?!?!

omg i'm so frustrated.

time to get a pixel?

I paid the full price for my tmobile phone through Apple. I ordered it at 3am on 9/9. I'm just frustrated that Apple is now making the JB+'s more available by the hour in stores and now I see the sim free and unlocked phone came out. Then, there's me. Who still hasn't heard **** about the status of my freaking phone.
These people should've really taken care of all their preorders before even considered making these phones available in stores. What was the ducking point of this preorder?

100% agree. I ordered mine through my carrier and nothing but weekly emails to say I had progressed and they would let me know when the phone was ready to dispatch. Now that same carrier has stock of that phone in some stores, Apple has a heap but those of us who pre-ordered were left waiting. I ended up ordering for a carrier plan pickup from an Apple store some 200km round trip away so I could get my phone before Christmas as they were talking late November to early December.

Ordered JB+ 128GB 40 minutes after preorders went live. I was stuck in "processing" up to today, but I found a 256GB JB+ at a local store. Cancelled my preorder, purchased the plus online with the option to pick up, and I am picking up tonight. Preorder was a mess this year; will never preorder from Apple again.

I agree, and it was even worse here ordering through carriers, as I ordered on 9/9, but order was completed on 11/9 and still no sign of my phone, so I managed to score one online for carrier pickup.

Not sure what I'll do, but I was considering an upgrade to the next phone but might just hold off until November from now on to get over the initial pre-order screwup time. And besides we cant upgrade with the NPF here unless the setup is 12 months old, so I cant even upgrade at release thanks to this ridiculous supply shortage, or I skip the next phone and just get every second one from now on and pay out my plan slightly early in 23 months time

Preorder was a joke. I'd say it was just trying to usher everyone into waiting first... but not even first to get phone. Pretty silly
 
If anyone is in Southern Cal, I see 7+ JB often throughout the day on istocknow.com. I used this twice recently to find a 7 silver and 7 JB when they were out of stock. Waited most of the day and one popped up close up. I was tempted to get a 7+ JB, but coming from a 6+, I couldn't do it.

But my orders were used to buy using the Apple Upgrade program. But one asked me if I wanted to buy or use iUP. I probably could have chosen to buy outright. For people who've waited so long this has to suck. The JB is where it's at.
 
Update: Yep, Something is wrong in Cupertino Today the temporary credit card charge is gone? I contact Apple customer service and the only thing they can tell me my order is scheduled for November 11 delivery. WTF. Perhaps they decided to ship Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus stock to their Apple Stores!

Update #2: Finally got notice the frigging iPhone has shipped! Preordered 10 min after it became available online and with this year's JB delivery mess it takes 40 days get the damn phone. Never again will I get up in the middle of the night to preorder! An Apple "Fan Boy" since 1984 who is soured by this mismanaged experience.

I've only been able to enjoy the Pre-Order Super Joy Singularity once (iPhone 5) to get my phone on launch day and I had ordered through AT&T. For the 6 Plus, it was a week late because of it's popularity so for the 6s Plus I was determined to order through Apple to enjoy the fun of waiting for it to go to PFS, then getting a shipping number, then tracking it from China, all of that because you know Apple is more forthcoming with updates than AT&T. I ended up just picking it up in-store and cancelling my order. Same for this year. I was able to snag one at my local Apple store.

This was just a mess. I ordered late in the morning this year but from the looks of it if you ordered after the first half hour you were looking at thirty days for delivery and after the first hour, sixty days. This was just handled badly. I know they wanted to offer a finish that is beautiful - and I really like mine -- but that has to be balanced with knowing everyone is going to want one and can we make enough to satisfy demand.

Now I have to perform some sort of purification ceremony to cleanse my soul of this experience and prepare myself for round two when the Air Pods drop.

Cancelled My Online Order - Picked One Up!

So my original date had been November 11 forever. On a whim I checked iStockNowLive and found a 7+ Jet Black 128 GB at one of the Apple Stores near me. Cancelled my Apple Store order and was able to re-order for pickup using my ATT Next upgrade about 5 minutes later.

Picked up phone this morning. Apple is still showing 5 weeks if you order online, but the JB Plus versions are now showing up in most stores. Very bad roll out. Why are the stores getting phones before the people who ordered on 9/9?

To be honest, I didn't need a new iPhone 7+ but preordering minuets after Apple Store comes online in the middle of the night, tracking the shipment from China, seeing "Out for Delivery" on the official release day brings joy to us geeks. I've purchased every new iPhone since the first one, and received it on the release day....except the Jet Black 7+ this year. Apple killed my fun this year...I excitement is gone.

I ordered 9/9 too and my still says this:

Doesn't even make sense since 5 weeks is pass 11 Nov...
 
Well I'm a 3:38est confirmation email att 128jb and I just went to PFS with a credit card charge at 10pm est.

Well it looks like I am in luck. I found a 256 jet black I was able to reserve using the Apple upgrade program at my local Apple Store. So it looks like I lucked out! lol Good luck to all of y'all! And keep trying.
