After finding it in my support profile, I decided to try the UPS track by reference trick. I searched my phone number as the reference number (Example: XXXXXXXXXX no hyphens), and it worked!

Mine too! It is in my support profile (nicknamed it already) and I used UPS track by reference as well...coming from China for a Friday delivery!

I noticed with mine, it looks like the serial number is a different format. I've tried running it through those "serial number decoders", but they don't give me any info. Kind of interesting, but frustrating. I want to know my build week!

If this is the news that peoples iPhones are shipping already then I hope they will have enough stock on Saturday so i can make a reservation to get mine. Not getting my hopes up though. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Well thats good news get some of these phones out so they can get to mine :).

Nothing for me. Not on support profile yet and no luck tracking by phone number.

Order status still shows processing and October 4-10 ship date.

Interesting, Apple ships iPhone orders from the website directly from the factories in China to customers? Naively I thought they might ship them to the US, then on ship to customers.

I have a Sept 23-27 (hoping for an early shipment for release day, which did happen for me one year), but I did find a shipment from Shanghai. But I think that's my watch, which is scheduled for 9-16. So, good news and bad news for me.

My UPS is setup so they will email me once a shipper is created, this goes for any retailer not just Apple.
Same here. As soon as UPS receives notice to send me something they send an email letting me know.

I think it's just the luck of the draw. There are a lot of phones stateside getting ready to go to Apple's stores and to carrier shipping facilities and to Apple's main distribution centers. The ones that come from China are just printed with shipping labels and put in bulk containers. It's not like they ship them individually from China as that makes no sense.

Mine doesn't show shipped. I assume it's stateside but it does show up in my support profile.
it will show as Shipped once the pallet is scanned in China and placed on the plane. From the shipping information time stamp follow the plane on flightaware iphone tracker. Usually to Anchorage and then to Louisville (if in the east, not sure about west coast) then to your nearest hub.

It's a mixture, but it's typically more efficient to just ship directly from the factory. Gets to the customer faster. They do ship to carriers who then ship from the US to customers. But those of us who preordered from Apple directly will most likely get packages directly from China.
