Hopefully, for my own sake (and that of other Canadians) it is at the very least, not any more than the 6s is right now

But the way our dollar is going, and projected to go this year, it may be even more expensive.

fingers crossed.

I remember when the iPhone 4s was the same price here as it was in the States, and it was a lot more palatable to purchase unlocked.

With many Android phones in the $300-$500 price range getting vastly better each year, I don't see how Apple could justify raising it's prices. Samsung aside, many Android flagship phones can now be bought for $500-$600, compared to $750 of the iPhone X Plus.

Apple can only charge what the market will bear. Since iPhone sales are trending downwards, a price increase is highly unlikely. For the time being Apple will attempt to charge the same amount for iPhones, but over the long term there will be a lot of pressure to reduce pricing.

Not only are economic conditions worsening, competitors selling higher tier smart phones. Ironically, the biggest competition for Apple is older iPhones. Since so many have iPhones that meet their needs, it reduces the chances of upgrades. I have an iPhone 6+ and I find it performs well and has outstanding battery life. I'm not going to upgrade unless Apple gives me a good reason to do so.

To sum up, no price increase, and a lot of downward pressure on iPhone pricing in the future. I certainly have no plans to invest in Apple stocks.

Apple will probably have a smaller than usual record profit next quarter. Iphone was released at $599, iphone 6S starts at $649. While the price has been adjusted over time, in the almost 9 years the iphone has been around, the price of $50 went up less than everything else around us as the CPI just keeps going up. So it seems like a relative bargain.

Times are a changing and both Samsung and Apple have taken a hit on their sales. So what ever Apple does with the next iPhone they better hold the price the same as todays prices.
The cell phone demand has fallen, and many just keep their old phones so unless their is some great changes around the corner it's going to be slow going ahead.
