[doublepost=1491072987][/doublepost]I have recently switched to Tmobile and chose the iPhone 7 plus. I have been having the same issues. I can be talking to someone on the phone then my phone cuts out, sometimes i can still hear them but they cant hear me. Other times my phone goes completely quite, then after a few minutes i can hear other person again. My husband chose an LG phone and has had zero issues. I'm switching my phone out today. Also, my niece has the IPhone 7 with Verizon and loves her phone, she has no issues with her service or phone.

Your phone has a intel modem that may be what the issue is the Verizon one dos not used intel modem so your niece is not having the same issues

I have had T-mobile for about a month. My wife's 6 plus (was from AT&T but unlocked before switching carriers) gets better reception than my 7 plus (locked to T-Mo).

People kept telling me I am cutting in and out during calls. I couldn't make phone calls in certain stores when my wife could.

I recently tried disabling LTE for calls (leaving it ON for data though) and calls seem better at home for sure.

Congrats.
You have the cdma/gsm dual modem.

Models Powered by Intel’s LTE modem (GSM/WCDMA/LTE support)
  • A1778
  • A1784
Models Powered by Qualcomm’s LTE modem (GSM/CDMA/WCDMA/TD-SCDMA/LTE support)
  • A1660
  • A1661
[doublepost=1492341311][/doublepost]why a1660 & a1661 not work in LTE in t-mobile networks?

I went from zero issues on my 6s to having calls dropping like crazy on my 7 Plus. It's so bad T-Mobile sent me a 4G LTE CellSpot. I'm ready to get another phone already and have changed my mind on selling it to others because of the instability it's provided me.

The 6s and 7 plus are both on the same beta, I update the 6s first to see if it breaks anything.

I've tried multiple resets, settings, etc and I just can't get data in the same places as my 6s. It's frustrating. Bah.

I have to use LTE for calls or they will cut in and out or drop all together. However if I'm in an area with little data coverage, my calls won't go through at all.

It's been a rather not so fun ride for me on this. I hope Qualcomm and Apple make up.

Like with the TSMC VS Samsung, they picked TSMC for the 7/7+ because they knew it was superior. I hope they'll realize this again with Intel VS Qualcomm. It's obvious who is the inferior one here in my opinion and experience.

Let me straighten this out. Due to radiation laws in California,Apple has a lower transmission effect than many other phones, which means you need to get closer to cellphone network stations to make it connect properly.
This might not be a problem in cities, but where I live, phone sometimes only connect through edge or 3G,which kill FaceTime, and slow down or freeze data, try look up the coverage maps for the areas where the phones disconnected, look for mountains, tunnels,or deep canyons, where phone signal get weak or stopped.
Basically, the cellphone is just a complicated CB radio,so it's sensitive when it comes to terrain, thick walls, large structures etc.

I'm getting frustrated with my 7+ on T-mobile as well. I at first thought it was my phone. It's not just mine after all (wife's 6 plus is better than mine but not great, in-laws' 6s plus is having issues, sister in law's 5s has issues).

The main issue is weak building penetration. I have to turn LTE off for voice most of the time. Otherwise people can't hear me well and say I break up a lot. Also, it's like cell phone usage inside of a store/restaurant is nonexistent! I can barely text, can't make/receive calls, can't use LTE data...all very frustrating. I'm thinking of switching back to AT&T soon.

I really want to try Verizon but that would require 2 new phones.

I am a tmobile customer, for now LOL. Speaking from experience. T mobile, uses a lot of partner towers. Since they pay so little compared to other networks on that same tower (I suspect), we get less priority or bandwidth depending on the number of users, network strength, and time of day.
Why do you continue to spread unfounded statements? You need to have your phone looked at before you keep trolling.
This roaming/partnership is true for those how live in an area where there is no official T-mobile territory. It's called ROAMING

I switched from T-Mobile to Verizon due to no signals in buildings including basement. Building penetration signal issue is T-Mobile weakness in addition to rural areas. They still have a long way to go to catch up with Verizon.

OH OK, I had no idea how it worked. Thanks for clarifying, I really appreciate your insight on the matter. I had no idea that I was trolling and am hoping you can find it in your heart to forgive me. #sarcasim Now I would suggest speaking with someone who is a subject matter expert and possibly find out how cell towers work. Then, once you understand the basics, get industry-specific knowledge on who gets what priority on which towers. Once you have all of that, figure out where I live (not in a t-mobile "roaming" area) and the distance of my phone from the nearest tower. After all of that explain how not just my phone, but every t-mobile device in my home, with full bars has a much slower speed than the other devices in my home that are connected to the same tower that is the exact same distance with the only difference being the carrier? OH my, I'm trolling again. Let me stop now.
Hey in that case, you are not trolling, you have a real problem but you were not specific when you were doing it. It sounded more venting than explaining your problem. I am here to try to understand what is going on too. I will clarify that T-mobile doesn't rent antennas from other providers. Several different providers can share one tower but with their own antennas. It's literally impossible to use the same antennas for let's say Sprint and T-mobile since they use different wireless signal bands. What I have discovered is that some antennas are not working correctly as they upgrade from 2G-3G to LTE causing a lot of problems. You may call T-mobile and let them know that this is happening on all your devices and they will create a ticket to investigate the source of the problem. In some cases I have notice I latch to a tower that is on a busy location slowing me down during the day and at night is fine. I agree that T-mo has a lot of work to do ahead but I'm here because I have friends that are having problems exclusively with iPhone 7 and 7+ and SEs reception. I have an LG V20 and I can compare my signal levels to be at 4 or 5 bars while iPhones have 1to3 bars. I am looking for answers not trying to be aggressive. I am complaining that if you sign up to respond to this thread that at least you are sincere as to what is your issue and not just bash on the brand. What I discovered since my last post is that Apple is selling to T-mobile customers iPhones with the Intel modem and that that modem (proven by tests in a lab, lookup iphone-7s-with-intel-modems-struggle-badly-in-low-signal-areas at extremetech dot com ) lose more signal strength if the signal is not under perfect conditions. In this case Apple made that decision and screwed the pooch.

Yeah. I can attest to that. Having my 6s work perfectly, while my 7 plus is spotty. It's not really worth it to me to go to Apple, it's not like they'll give me a Qualcomm version. So I'm holding out until September or so and deciding what I'll be doing then.

I really am not looking forward to if Intel stays around for us GSM carriers.

Apple sold over 80 million iPhone 7's.
A very small percentage of that were the cdma enabled ones with the Qualcomm baseband.
The intel iPhones are fine.
All this nonsense about the intel ones are bad and Qualcomm ones good is blown out of proportion in such online places like this.

Well, from own personal experience it's inferior. Just as my Samsung 6s has less battery life than the TSMC 6s I gave my guy. Some people may not notice, nor care. They just want an iPhone. Those of us who used to modify Android devices and do intensive testing, I'm pretty sure we notice the little things. Not saying people shouldn't be happy with their devices, I'm saying the differences between the models are obvious to me. Obvious enough to a few others that there are plenty of reports, blogs, articles with testing that shows the variables between them.

Apple had to cripple the Qualcomm and TSMC to meet the inferior quality of the Intel and Samsung. That's okay to some, but not to all. I just want Apple to pick a manufacturer that provides the best product as the iPhone is considered a premium device. I really don't think that's too much to ask honestly.

Edit: I'm sorry if that came out snarky. That wasn't intended at all.
