iPhone 8+ 64gb Space Gray, Apple Watch Series 3 GPS 42MM Space Gray, Apple TV 4K 64GB (ALL Sept 22 Delivery Date)

Apple just got a chunk of change! I decided to go with iPhone 8+ I am just not really into the facial recognition. Had the iPhone X had Touch ID I would have waited..

Had to do in-store pickup instead of delivery because when you do an upgrade through carrier, it only can deliver to account holder's address, and I will be at work when UPS guy comes through. Surely a signature is required for delivery so I didn't want to risk missing it.
Once you get the confirmation, you can call UPS and have them do a hold for pickup at their location. Much shorter lines.

To those getting 8 Plus over X, could you help a brother out on your thoughts to skip the X? It would really help me with my decision!
Also congrats on your purchase!
Cheers!
The X is cool looking, but the features aren't going to change my world. I'm more than happy to touch a button to unlock the phone. I don't need the super high res retina display. And the $300 extra price tag wasn't worth it to me. The X just isn't that exciting to me.

Best thing I've seen is that the iPhone Sim-Free is available NOW (at preorder), unlike past years. Hopefully the X will be the same way!

Half the hype for X has already died down. The longer the delay, the less impulsive the purchases.

Without blush gold at launch for China, the sales aren't going to be anything to write home about.

It does feel weird to not be Pre ordering. But I see they have in store pickup and reservations. I could have had a 8am pickup at my store on launch day. Many people must not be getting them. I hope the X is this easy!

Ordered my 42mm Space Gray Apple Watch Nike+ w/black sport loop in the first minute the store was up. Delivery was already pushed to 5th October. The model's delivery is now at 3-4 weeks while other SKU's are still shipping on Sept 22. Obviously this particular combo is VERY popular.

Had to download the Apple Store App and order it there. It was surprisingly easy, and automatically grabbed all of my carrier info directly from my phone. I couldn't get in using the web store, but got right in and even did the iPhone upgrade program application all from my phone.

Not ordering today, but after seeing articles on both macrumors and 9to5mac about Apples app design standards for the X, I am thoroughly turned off by the notch. It really seems like more of a distraction for gaming apps and some productivity to a point, at least in landscape mode. I think I’ll skip both the 8 and X and probably spring for a 7 with discounted price through AT&T (seeing they still are carrying the 256GB models). Wireless seems hampered with the half reduction charges, and I still think of the Bob Mansfield quote about “it’s not wireless”... it’s still connected to a wire, to an outlet, to the wall, you’re still restricted to where it is, you might not plug it in, but it still is there sitting on a mat.

But to each their own-expectations were high, and for me they didn’t quite pan out even for me to ditch my 6 just yet. I hope all the 8’s get theirs tonight, and I wish the best of luck to all my macrumor community waiting for the X (if tonight is any indication-order from the Apple Store App).
