iPhone 8 gray started to slip to 1-2 weeks or Tmobile one already to 3-4 weeks.

Ordered 2 42mm Stainless Steel, one black, other silver. Friday delivery, yay!

I'll probably end up selling whichever is in highest demand! ;)

Looking like the Silver SS is most popular.

Not ordering today, but after seeing articles on both macrumors and 9to5mac about Apples app design standards for the X, I am thoroughly turned off by the notch. It really seems like more of a distraction for gaming apps and some productivity to a point, at least in landscape mode. I think I’ll skip both the 8 and X and probably spring for a 7 with discounted price through AT&T (seeing they still are carrying the 256GB models). Wireless seems hampered with the half reduction charges, and I still think of the Bob Mansfield quote about “it’s not wireless”... it’s still connected to a wire, to an outlet, to the wall, you’re still restricted to where it is, you might not plug it in, but it still is there sitting on a mat.

But to each their own-expectations were high, and for me they didn’t quite pan out even for me to ditch my 6 just yet. I hope all the 8’s get theirs tonight, and I wish the best of luck to all my macrumor community waiting for the X (if tonight is any indication-order from the Apple Store App).
I feel you. I'm in need of two phones ..not as want...but need as in necessary. I was thinking of 7 plus..but it's bad with recording hissing sound. I'm no rush to get ip8 plus and note 8. I was hoping to wait for next gen..but my circumstance is that it's in dire need.

I'm guessing supply is able to meet demand because lots of people are holding out for the X.

Yes, I am hoping that supply remains strong and that people holding out for the X break and submit to the 8. I've seen a few people say that already on here.

On the Apple Upgrade Program. Ordered 8 Plus, Gold, 256GB. Very Easy. Also ordered my first ATV. The 4K model. 32GB

Looks like Chinese demand this time is stronger than U.S.

The Apple/CN site shows all iPhone 8 models are at least 1-2 weeks. The 8 Plus Gold 256 GB is 3-4 weeks.

Def not waiting for iPhone X! Not willing to jump ship on a $1149 iPhone and lose home button AND touch ID in one gen...but I am anxiously awaiting my iPhone 8 Plus 256 to be delivered next Friday. Always use the Apple Store App...it was up at exactly 2:01AM CST...while apple website didn't load until almost 2:10AM CST. Looks like lots will wait for iPhone X since it's still showing 9/22 for all delivery/pickup times. X will be impossible on launch day. Watch!

To those getting 8 Plus over X, could you help a brother out on your thoughts to skip the X? It would really help me with my decision!
Also congrats on your purchase!
Cheers!

Touch ID. I can unlock it much better when driving and much safer than Face ID.

Speakers. Apple toted the 8 that they are 25% louder than the 7 but not the X.

Screen. X has a high res OLED but the brightness is not that great.

Both have the same processor.

New Tech. Wait a year policy. Like the Apple Watch, its best to wait a year or 2 for the kinks to iron out. Now I am interested in the Apple Watch and would rather use the extra 200 towards it or a Ipad Pro than the X.

I wouldn't offer much stock for China to start with if I was Tim Cook.

Just pre ordered through Verizon for my mom. Her device is 75% paid off, just used the upgrade, phone costs about $33 a month, made me pay $70ish upfront. I guess that makes sense?!

Relatively easy...once the store went up. Had "we'll be right back" until 3:08 or so.

This is for an Apple Watch (non LTE version). To replace the Series 2 for my wife which we ordered on Aug. 25. Which Apple graciously is allowing us to return for a full refund, even though technically past the 14 day return policy. Was expecting I would just claim a price drop protection on my card, and go on. But given there is no more Series 2, and the Series 3 is $40 cheaper, this was actually a better option. Used the EPP store...no discount on watch itself, but a few bucks off AppleCare+ doesn't hurt. Arriving Sept. 22, so all good. Almost used the in-store pick up option, but was not sure how accurate they were with actually on having them. So opted for the delivery.

One other item...am disappointed with the lack of band options upfront on series 3 vs. 2. For example, we had gold aluminum with midnight blue sport band. Obviously, can't see how many band options there were with Series 2, but remember there being several color sport band options with gold aluminum case. This time, only pink was available with the gold aluminum case. Have to buy additional if you want the midnight blue this time, which does still appear to be available. Oh well....

I am coming from the 6 as well. I thought about the 7 but I am drawn to the wireless charge--- plus future proofing myself for next few years.

As for not being completely wireless that's to be expected. I get home early mornings- to not wake up mrs and baby I keep light off- and to not make much noise would be awesome to just drop it down on nightstand and not fight to find and plug in the cable.

I ordered two iPhone 8 Plus 256GB in Space Gray without a hitch. This is without a doubt the smoothest an iPhone release has ever gone for me, and I actually kinda regret waking up at 3am to do this. lol. I’m guessing that either supply is really good this year, or demand is insanely low due to the iPhone X. (Probably more the latter cause.)

Here’s hoping that Apple hasn’t made a serious miscalculation with their phone strategy this year.

Very weak demand for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus

This is supposed to be Apple's bread and butter model.

I can’t wait to read about the numbers. I am waiting for the X and I don’t want it to be like every other launch, hell!!

I wouldn't offer much stock for China to start with if I was Tim Cook.

Given the Chinese market is significantly larger than the U.S., that's nuts.

The Gold model was intended to target the Chinese market. Apple hired a managing director just for China.

Just based on comments on social media and sites like this, the majority are waiting for the Ten. That's basically Apple’s true flagship model. It's cool tho. Hope the 8 buyers enjoy their phone. It's a solid upgrade for those with a 6 and below. But yeah, bring on the Ten!!!! :D
