So many people here are so against buying an Apple Watch to tell the time. What a sorry day this is.

I must say that I don't like the tone of your posts. There is no need to be so arrogant, especially as a) you're just guessing and have no more inside knowledge than anyone else and b) seem to have a very narrow idea of design ("symmetry", basically) and no idea at all about what is iconic and what is just bland. We'll see in a few weeks and I look forward to you eating crow. But if your predictions don't come true you will probably claim "Jony Ive lost his mind" or equivalent drivel.

P.S. Please tell us all why the camera on the back of all iPhones so far is in the corner and not in the middle (like it is on several android models). Wouldn't that be more symmetrical?

P.P.S. EMBRACE THE NOTCH :D
I have never and would never claim Jony Ive lost his mind or is past his prime or anything of the like. I laugh at people who claim that. The guy is part of a group of about 25-30 of the best industrial designers in the world. He is in charge, but they work together, they are essentially one when it comes to the designs as Ive has said.

The camera is not in the center for internal engineering and intelligent design reasons. That is an instance of symmetry being compromised for obviously needed reasons. Symmetry as a whole is followed by Apple designs, you can't disagree there. The symmetry on the front will remain.

The notch will not be 'embraced'. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, we'll see.

It was getting too crowded and it's time to clear some out.

On the left it should be Wifi, cellular, bluetooth, and GPS. Lose the cellular branding - people either know who they have already or they don't care. People diagnosing issues can go into settings to find out.

On the right it should be battery and time, alarm, and do not disturb. Rotate lock icon should go away. Can be replaced with when you shake your phone or something with rotation lock on, it just flashes the icon quickly to remind you that it's on.
Still not enough room. I do hope they get rid of the cellular branding, but I don't know why Apple wouldn't have gotten rid of it long ago since it's a hideous annoyance there and always has been. There must be reasoning they had for its presence.

So we can certainly agree on that!

Yeah, we'll see. One thing's for sure – the September event/keynote will be super interesting in many ways.

S8 in EU costs €630. iPhones 7 32GB costs €769. Let alone the 7 Plus...

Not sure how or why it would be so much cheaper in the EU, but the S8 retails for $725 in the US vs $649 for the iPhone 7. The Plus models for both are $825 and $769, respectively.

Apple Tax. They hedge their bets on currency fluctuations thrice over.

When I first saw this design I disliked it as it’s asymmetrical, but I have to admit that it’s grown a lot on me after a few days. I’m not against the design anymore but I am 100% against the lack of Touch ID; no fingerprint scanner, no buy. That will be the dealbreaker for me.

They could totally decrease the bezel but still have some. I think leaving the touch ID and camera/speaker in bezel would be fine. There is enough bezel to trim it while still giving more screen retail.
