hi guys, anyone else have a noticeable clicking sound on the top part on the screen? Like right at the top on the bezel. If I push it down firmly and hold it, it will stop clicking for a few minutes but then it comes back

I just took it out of the box today, is maybe something still settling or should I be taking this in?

Thanks
[doublepost=1506552968][/doublepost]Also point out that you can feel the click under your finger when it happens
[doublepost=1506553541][/doublepost]I noticed this was a big issue on the iPhone 7, was this ever resolved? Would this affect the phones water proofing?

I have a 6s plus as well that makes zero noise when pushing anywhere on the screen

My 7+ doesn't click, I can check an 8+ when I get home. But I don't recall it clicking either.

I came across a massive 400+ reply thread for the iPhone 7 about screen click issues when I went to look into my current problem. Haven’t found a single topic about this being an issue on the iPhone 8 but apparently was a fairly big problem on last years model. But last years model was along the bottom of the screen where mines at the top

Sucks because I love the phone and no other defects about it but that’s definitely a big annoyance lol

Ugh. I was actually considering getting an iPhone 8 since I sold my 7plus due to this very issue. I had 3 replacements and they all clicked on various spots of the phone. And the click isn't even hard pressure either. They eventually said it's just a natural design of the phone -- whatever that means. I guess if it clicks or if it doesn't...it's just the way it is. My advice is just learn to live with it if you can. It bothered me enough to the point where I just gave up on it and sold it after the 3rd replacement. Best of luck to you.

Edit: As far as it affecting the waterproof, I do not think it does as mine has got wet a few times while it has clicked. The apple tech at the genius bar said that it might be the adhesive sealing around the edges that may cause it to click, but it would have no affect with the water resistance.

I just received my 8 Plus today and I also have the clicking sound at the top of the screen. I don’t have the crackling sound that’s been widely reported in this thread. It is annoying but I don’t think I want to go through the hassle of returning it because it seems great otherwise.

I don't know what your talking about here, but the haptic home button with the feeling you can "click" the bottom of the phone annoys me. I know a lot of people say you can get used to it and like it better after a whole, but after trying that for the first time, then touching it a couple more... I've grown to not like the new home button. I am almost in a full 'good riddance home button' mode, which is partially why I am leaning towards the X.

Quick update, I did get this exchanged today and the new unit has no clicking anywhere on the screen

And starfyre this is in no relation to the haptic feedback of the home button or the 3D Touch, this is a hardware defect below the screen. Even with the phone shut off it made the clicking

But happy to report no clicking on the new phone. Just getting it loaded up to make sure the rest checks out. Wish me luck! Dying to just play and enjoy the phone!

I hear you, I almost didn’t but I’m so ocd about these little things lol

Was worried it would get worse and be outside my return window and I don’t feel like getting a white box reman unit on a new phone lol

If it makes you feel better neither of the demo units had the click or my new one. So hopefully this was just more of a fluke incident

Update, my second phone does this click as well, it going to bother going back again, doesn’t click while using the phone normally. Only clicks when I go to check lol

My 6+ had a click but you had to squeeze the phone just right to get it to click. Didn't bother me, lived with it for almost 2 years. 8+ no click.

Only place it clicks is if you push beside the ear piece on the right side. So whatever, I have to hold my ear up to it and push just to hear it lol

I do have the same issue on the top left of my 8+. Once I got my case on it, it has prevented it from occurring.

This is ridiculous. Did it affect the performance or use of the phone in any way?

My 7+ clicked and went away after in case and charging heat phase. Returned 8+ also clicked around the ear piece and after couple days in case and charging heat phase went away as well. Its most likely bond didnt cure well at thefactory

Mines in a uag case currently so hopefully it will help as it’s done a few charge cycles

[doublepost=1507007968][/doublepost]Mine also clicks just below the receiver. Whenever I force touch any app on the top middle screen clicks, goes away for a while then comes back. Might just live with it. Noticed a few demo units did it as well at my local Apple store.

Could you post a video?

The back of my 8+ clicks. It happens with even the lightest pressure directly on the Apple logo.

Mine doesn't click but there's a rattle when i tap the top of the phone like something is loose up there, I'm thinking of swapping it out.

That’s normal. The cameras are what your hearing, they have to stay loose so hey can auto focus
