For the past few days I used an apple silicon case (2-3 battery charging cycles) and the "clicking" is 90% gone even without a case. If you don't know it in advance it's barely noticeable. Yet as a long long time apple user I'm utterly displeased with the quality of the iPhones since the 6 plus. Simply cant justify a price higher that 1000 euros (in my country in Europe) for a device that is factory miss produced. Maybe i got used to "perfect" macs in the past years but the quality of the iPhones in deteriorating in my opinion. Saw on the web that apple stocks are falling and they are cutting the production of the 8/8plus in half, and it's sad to say that gives me pleasure, and really hope they will get on the right track (i said it and i will say it again they need Forstall back)

Just wondering how wide spread is this issue, because there are not a lot of complains on the web about it.

I have an iPod touch that's done it since day one, it's not been a problem that's gotten worse or interfered with the functionality of the device; I guess paying so much for the 8 you've probably reason to be a bit more picky though!

I think i posted here but give it a week to cure the adhesive normally it will go away. If not you can return it

The same on mine (8+ 256 Space Gray). It wouldn’t click initially, but in a week or two or so, once I’ve read this topic and decided to look for the click, I of course found it.

It is a single high-pitched click, audible when I apply the pressure slightly more than the force touch effort. Happens in the upper 1/4th of the screen, more to the right.
After 1, 2 or 3 clicks it goes away for a while, as if somethig “gets” in place.
Also clicks when the phone is powered off.

Once I put my ear to it, it became obvious that this is not a “flexing” sound that one would expect from the plastic or glass, but it is actually a really sharp and high-pitched click. It is obviously something in the consruction of the phone which produces this sound once you squeeze the whole “sandwich”. I hope it’s not the battery being slowly punctured by some metal component :(

I don’t really notice it on a daily basis, but sometimes I hear it as I put the phone to my ear (as I tend to press against it sometimes).

Talked over chat with apple support today. Apparently the “clicking” is normal due to the size of the screen . o_O I personally disagree but who knows

hi guys, anyone else have a noticeable clicking sound on the top part on the screen? Like right at the top on the bezel. If I push it down firmly and hold it, it will stop clicking for a few minutes but then it comes back

I just took it out of the box today, is maybe something still settling or should I be taking this in?

Thanks
[doublepost=1506552968][/doublepost]Also point out that you can feel the click under your finger when it happens
[doublepost=1506553541][/doublepost]I noticed this was a big issue on the iPhone 7, was this ever resolved? Would this affect the phones water proofing?

Hey I wouldn’t worry t

I have a 6s plus as well that makes zero noise when pushing anywhere on the screen

Hey I wouldn’t worry much about the screen clicking, I noticed the 2nd day that I had my iPhone X that lone behold the screen makes a clicking noise at the top left part of the screen by the silencer switch, I know it’s really annoying but I looked back at every iPhone I’ve had from the 5s and up, and realized that every one of my iPhones screens have clicked, some worse than others, anyways I wouldn’t worry about exchanging it or sending it to apple, because when I had my iPhone 7 Plus I sent it to apple 5 times due to the screen clicking, of course it was never resolved and the replacement phones screens even made clicking sounds. With my X I’m not going to waste my time trying to get it fixed or replaced when it doesn’t even effect the phone or how I use it at all, so I wouldn’t worry about your 8 pluses screen. I just thought I’d let you know that really it’s not that uncommon for iPhone screens to click I was even wondering about this today, so I took two of my friends iPhones and seen that both of theirs made clicking sounds (shocker)

Mine clicks on the back, under the apple logo especially, front seems alright, cant be bothered no more, I remember exchanging the 7 Plus last year at least 10 times like a lunatic because the front would click, all 10 did so eh, there's always some annoying problems, I'm on my second iP8 Plus and both had the aluminium around the camera chipping off.

Just got mail from iStyle (local apple reseller) that they are going to exchange my iphone 8 plus with new (probably refurbished) device because they tested the phone with Apple AST2 diagnostic and Functional Test and the test showed that my iphone has problem with Audio Bottom Mic Left. I checked on the web and cant find and threads about problem with Audio Bottom Mic Left

My 6 did this. I'm surprised this is still happening. Seems the adhesive for the screen isn't right or something. No fix but a replacement. Dang.

My iPhone X actually does it very slightly in the top right hand corner and I can only mildly hear it when I clean the screen with a micro fiber cloth. It's definitely a random thing as my silver X didn't click what so ever like this space gray unit does.

Lol I'm not going through the hassle of exchanges and returns as the phone is perfect in just about every othwr way.

Got a new iPhone X..and guess what, the irritating clicking sound is there in right bottom and it’s so frustrating. Noticed this within minutes of switching on the phone .. Do they replace the unit for this ?? I am from India and I got the unit from Australia.. since Apple has extended warranty support for phones purchased in other countries also, will they replace it here in India ??

Hi, same here, but in right lower corner..Really frustrated with the click though. A 999$ phone at least shouldn’t make “clicks” like an old phone..very disappointed. Do they replace the unit with a new one for free???
