What? There's nothing remotely close to that in my quote. Although, I invite you to show me where you think it is. Actually, I'd appreciate it if you did.

You said, and I quote:

Are you saying Apple is incapable of making correct projections?
But it's a fair question to ask, as CEO, how are you missing accurate inventory projections every year? And to be short every year?

What's your definition of an accurate projection? How close does Apple have to be to the mark for them to be considered a whiz at projecting demand? From what I see, Apple could make 5 fewer iPhones than they needed to and it would still have been an inaccurate forecast.

My quote implies that all of Apple's projections have been wrong, not that they would be at fault if they miss on even 1 projection. It's a darn near statistical impossibility to underestimate launch inventory every single year. Blind luck would dictate an over estimation... at least once. That's what my quote is about. Not some fault regarding perfection.

If the iPhone 8 looks as good as this concept iPhone, who cares what its called, I want one! :D I'm going to get one! I might even buy one for all the family.
And I'm sure there will be some cool JB design features to be had. Getting excited. :D
However if it still looks like the previous models then I'm sorry but design fatigue had set in some time back so I'm not going to buy something that looks the same as all the other models. *YAWN*

if you don't care for the embeded Touch ID in the display, at least Apple gives new wallpapers with every model :)

That logic just completely baffles me. While the the manufacturers very well might not be able to crank them out quick enough, if Apple really wanted to solve this problem, they could. Supplies have been "constrained" for 10 years now.
The problem is that the peak demand when the phone is launched is way higher than the ongoing demand over the next couple of years. If Apple scaled their supply chain to so that it met peak demand, it would be sitting idle most of the rest of the time, which would mean paying far more to sustain unused capabilities. Alternatively, they could build up a stockpile of devices before launch, but that would mean delaying launch by several months. Either of those would solve the problem of short supply, but at the price of introducing other, worse, problems.

Getting ready to exchange my 6+ for a 6+S. All about that headphone jack for as long as I can have it.

at that size you might as well put an iPad Mini next to your head.

Its far closer in size to an se than to an ipad mini, ridiculous statement.

The se is the same size as the 5s, 8 supposed to be the same overall size as the 6 plus. Not even remotely close to the ipad mini. Thats like saying with the se "might as well hold the ipod shuffle to your head".

A 5.8" screen with 5.1" usable display, I hope that turns out to not be true. Could be a deal breaker for me.

Tim 'supply chain expert' Cook strikes again! I'll go ahead and give him the benefit of the doubt that perhaps the "iPhone 8" is so revolutionary that only very few manufacturers can produce it to Apple's exacting standards, thus lowering the amount of product that can be produced.

Well, it's either that or they're purposely doing this to inflate the demand. Not sure which.

You are basing your argument on the assumption that the ability to manufacture one million units is the same as the ability to make ten times that. Newer high tech products have huge yield problems. Even Samsung only makes less than half of Apple's numbers for its flagships. For example, the intel i5 and i7 are essentially the same chips but sold depending on the amount of manufacturing defects a chip has. If you wanted all iseries chips to be i7s Intel would have a huge supply problem. Likewise, Apple can't just make a slightly worse iPhone 7 and call it a iPhone 6s.
