Liquidmetal possibility?

This is exactly the look Liquidmetal can provide along with the rigidity and flexibility of the rear case. Liquidmetal can also be easily colored.

New iPhone 8 Mirror Edition ... now with four times the fingerprints and nine times the scratches.
Liquidmetal (if this is what Apple uses) is extremely difficult to scratch.

Not adding any of my own comments, but ZDnet is (kind of) advising to skip iPhone 8 and wait until 2018: http://www.zdnet.com/article/why-you-might-want-to-give-the-iphone-8-a-miss/

The entire concept of 'girls colors' and 'boys colors' is somewhat recent. And for a while in the early 20th century blue was considered a feminine color and pink a boys color:

"For example, a June 1918 article from the trade publication Earnshaw's Infants' Department said, “The generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, and blue for the girls. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl.” Other sources said blue was flattering for blonds, pink for brunettes; or blue was for blue-eyed babies, pink for brown-eyed babies, according to Paoletti."

Maybe they use a gender identity other than what you assumed? I don't think it really makes any difference anyway, they can think what they want, buy what they want. This will not affect me or yourself in any way shape or form, live and let live.

you know i was just teasing.

but the point was that people get caught with what's new.

Out of curiosity.... was the shiny metal on the back of your iPod covered with a sheet of Gorilla Glass 5 to be conducive to wireless charging (like the back of the iPhone Edition will likely be)?

Lol, obviously I'm being rhetorical- but my point is:
Gorilla Glass doesn't scratch NEARLY as badly or easily as polished metals!

Precisely the point - all this comparison to the old metal backed iPods or Zippos is a bit of fun, yes, but the vast majority of rumours are pointing toward a glass back - so it won't be the "scratch magnet" people are regularly complaining about in this thread.

Dropping it is another story, mind you . . . . .

Remember all those GUYS that bought the iphone in GOLD because it was new?

They looked like girl phones! hahahaha OMG they were rocking girl phones.

If it were pink some apple fans would buy it because it's new.
There is a pink one. I don't know any guys who bought it. I don't see what's feminine about gold color, though. Men wear gold stuff all the time, and some drive gold cars. More of an old person thing.

I NEVER use cases on any of my phones and have never broken a screen. I would never use one of those ugly monstrosities unless I worked in some sort of industrial setting and had to have my phone on me. That is like driving a Ferrari around in 100 rolls of bubble wrap.
Eh, I think the bumper cases actually made the iPhone 4/4S and 5/5S look better. The metal bands were weird. Anyway, I have a small case on my 6 just so the camera lens doesn't scrape the table when it's sitting and get wrecked (aka to correct their stupid design).

I think that's just an exceptional case. Every old (1400s-1800s) painting I've seen would indicate that only women wore pink and dresses.

Reminds me of an exchange between Phillip of Macedonia ( the father of Alexander the Great) and Sparta-

Phillip: "You are advised to submit without further delay, for if I bring my army into your land, I will destroy your farms, slay your people, and raze your city."

Spartan reply: "If."
Spartan quotes are the best quotes.

Good find. Can't see which Paoletti it was, but if Italian, they are fashion people and usually have no issue with anything male or female in fashion.

They have entire soccer clubs wear pink jerseys or powder blue.

The notion that "girly" is a put down is funny to me. I can name plenty of accomplishments by females which males have yet to deliver!

I sure know I will like a glossy white version. Maybe ceramic. It will be a first( I guess)

I have never gone with the new color.
Gold? Pass.
Rose Gold? Yawn.
Jet Black? Didn't even want a 7.

This mirror finish, if done right, is on my list. Bringing baack the iPod (hopefully without the horrid scraching) look, which I must say looked good if kept nice. Certainly not looking to wait an extra few months to get one, but I would be fine with a few weeks delay.

Apple could make its upcoming OLED iPhone available in four different shades, including a new "mirror-like" reflective version not seen before in previous models. That's the latest claim from mobile leaker Benjamin Geskin, who shared an example image via Twitter over the weekend showing what the new color option could resemble.

The image the leaker provided is just an iPhone in a third-party reflective case, but it offers some idea of what a purported "mirrored" handset might look like if Apple decided to offer such a design as part of its color options.

DEOsfxlXcAA7RYl.jpg-large-800x600.jpeg

Geskin offered no details regarding the source of his information, so there's no way to verify the claim, but it follows predictions from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo earlier this month that Apple's flagship iPhone model could come in limited "boutique" color options, alongside more typical "S" cycle updates to the existing iPhone 7 line-up.

No clarification was forthcoming regarding the other three color options for the redesigned iPhone, but it's possible some of them could be plucked from the existing six iPhone 7 shades currently available, which include jet black, black, gold, silver, rose gold, and (PRODUCT)RED.

Last week's prominent and perhaps most controversial rumor was that the new iPhone may not include TouchID at all, with Apple favoring some sort of face recognition technology as a replacement security feature. The rumor muddied the waters regarding the future of Apple's fingerprint recognition, with previous rumors appearing to indicate that the company had come up with a solution to integrate TouchID in an OLED display, with facial recognition used as an additional security feature via new 3D sensors in the front-facing camera.

Otherwise, Apple's major iPhone redesign is said to include some form of wireless charging, a faster A11 processor, and a glass body. The 5.8-inch "iPhone 8" is expected to be announced in September.

I will definitely get the new mirror like color as it will be attention getter color. I love everything that is excellent attention getter :)

Terrible peanut gallery. Do people truly not know how to wash their hands and perform general maintenance on their devices?

A mirrored finish would be desirable, beautiful, and would no doubt have long shipping delays. If done under glass, it would likely be one of the most beautiful devices ever.

Two benefits:

1: Those who take care of and protect their gadgets properly will have an excellent ROI.

2: They'll likely have my standard "Black," model in stock.

Win-Win.

disagree lose-lose
