Old news, 9to5mac had this story up over the weekend. The news biz is 24/7, you're in the wrong biz if macrumors staff takes off for the weekend.
Yeah, but I'd rather read it here or on AppleInsider, instead of on 9to5mac. But then again, I'd personally rather say something that's mildly on topic, in stead of nagging on "old news".

So once again, deflect any blame for any issues away from Apple and to anyone else? In this case, the user is wrong? What is it...

  • You're bodily oil production is wrong?
  • You're greasing it wrong?
  • You're oiling it wrong?
  • oil-gate/grease-gate?
Anyone who bought the early iPods with chrome backs knows that fingerprints (and visible scratches) are inevitable. Blaming the user by faulting fundamental human functions is really pushing the (proactive) defense.

You got me lost now.

I NEVER use cases on any of my phones and have never broken a screen. I would never use one of those ugly monstrosities unless I worked in some sort of industrial setting and had to have my phone on me. That is like driving a Ferrari around in 100 rolls of bubble wrap.

You don't put a Ferrari in your pocket nor hold it in your hand.
A Ferrari doesn't fall, it's stuck to the ground, and most of the time it's insured.

So mirrored finish like all iPods had? The funny thing was every one of mine got scratched to crap and I never cared.

Hehe, pass. This will either get covered in scratches and fingerprints, or hidden by a skin or case to protect it - either way you'd see the shiny back for about 5 minutes :)

I like the minimal black case I saw at the Apple Store a while back. One the I did not care for about that case was the logo on the back. Don't like logo's of any kind I don't like to pay for something then be a walking advertisement for these companies. I know they all do it but they could make it less obvious. Like you say I used a case minimal case on the Galaxy S6 and did not worry or even think about fingerprints. I think that is just a think for whiners to whine about anyway. Whiners will always find something to whine about.
I am no fan of glass after the Galaxy S6. I would rather have metal or a dull finish plastic.

You seem to be much like me. I de-test logos of all kinds.
I cut things off my clothes, take out tags that itch and shop for basically all muted colors.

Prefer not to be noticed. My wife used to tell the store clerks trying to sell me the latest fashion stuff: "If it's gray or black, he'll take it"

I probably should be on a couch exploring why I am like this.

As for glass, I would prefer any material that holds up, rather than appear elegant to show off.

All those cases get gross fast. It drives me nuts when I see people use a broken case on their phone because they don't want the phone to break. Broken cases won't protect your device as well, and since no-one wants to clean them they just spread germs. Don't budget for a case. Buy a few.

Agree, a lot of horror show cases around and some look like they provide no protection.

I went with the NewerTech KX for OWC after seeing them throwing the thing off a tower.

I don't get paid by them, but I recommend it highly. No reg noticeable logo and can be washed easily.
Just mad e batch of something extremely oily and after I was done, just washed all of it off.
Important to get the screen protector film as well as the case.

You got me lost now.

Sorry for losing you. If you don't know, it's extraordinarily common practice around here to fault anyone and everyone else for anything that might be even a minor negative toward Apple. It's always the other guy's fault- be that:
  • the patent holder (cast as "troll" unless it's Apple's patent for which "intellectual property SHOULD be protected"),
  • analyst (saying anything negative about Apple but the pro-Apple analysts are very well received),
  • reviewer (wrong when the review says anything negative but praised & quoted as absolute fact if it's one big gush-fest review)
  • competitor products with any tangible advantage not in an Apple product (which are "gimmicks" that "99% don't need" only until Apple adds the same feature to an Apple product and then it becomes a "must have" essential)
  • users (who shares ANY problem or issue, even if others chime in with the same problem. They are ALL wrong
"because I have a (same) _______ and mine works perfectly").
  • and so on.
So you basically faulting users for getting bodily oils/grease on a mirrored surface is typical, casting doubt/fault on users instead of the entity potentially choosing to return to mirrored metal finishes. Anyone who still has an early iPod can probably go dig it out of a drawer and find it's mirrored back covered in fingerprints. I bet there is hardly any human users with such devices that don't quickly deposit finger residue on the backs of such devices.

Sony create this idea color since last year. Apple being follower againt....

It's a fingerprint magnet - until Apple puts their magical coating on it. At that point it'll be so fancy that any dirt/dust/oil/water will bounce off of it.

No, Apple is certainly not copying Sony. There is no logic in your claim. Think about that for a minute. Sony released this phone last year, Apple likely was already having casing options and model configurations planned for mock ups long before Sony even released their version.

Not to mention, there is no validity behind this rumor and nor has it been confirmed by Apple either.

They better offer a black version. Jet Black, Matte Black, Dark Black, Space Black, Black Black...I don't really care. Just as long as it is black.

Please don't try to tell us what is on MacRumors isn't facts!

We want to get outraged now about this dumb silver mirror idea.
There is no time to waste and wait for what really happens.

Well "gold" (**** brown) will lock a little less tacky after his.......

Remember all those GUYS that bought the iphone in GOLD because it was new?

They looked like girl phones! hahahaha OMG they were rocking girl phones.

If it were pink some apple fans would buy it because it's new.
