Update- now changed from 9/25 to 9/19. (17 Pro 1TB orange).

It's nearly always the case, in my experience since original iPhone, that Apple almost always underestimates initial delivery speed. I have never had it take as long as they initially estimate, with perhaps one exception.

Clearly, they understand buyer psychology very well- delivering earlier than initially promised tends to make the buyer feel much better than finding it might be later.

AWU3 and APP3 arriving that same day, too.

Let me check mine right now: Nope, mine still says 9/25 (at least I got an In-store pick up order ready to go as well on 9/20/25):

yep. A few iPhones ago I'm pretty sure that the shipment started from china (flextronix). Now (in Italy) starts from Milan the day before (should be today).

I had the app open 2 minutes before release, and it didn't let me in until 10 minutes after — I had my order (Pro Max 1TB Orange) placed in probably 6 seconds with a delivery window of Sep 24-29. No option for pickup from my local Apple Store (20 minute drive). Still hasn't changed. Still processing.

My partner got into the app at the same time as me, but they got in only about 2-3 minutes after. They got 19th shipping for their base 17 (purple) and it was changed to "preparing to ship" on Tuesday.
