after scanning around video files my ipod touch's video goes out of sync with the audio. also i think the device gets warmer than usual. i have the 1g 😱.

When I go to save a photo off a website using safari to browse on my ipod touch the photo shows up on the main list of my photo albums but when I click on the saved photos album it says "No Photos - you can take photos using the camera." It never did this before. I dont really know if 3.0 was worth it.
Not sure if this is only for the 3GS but my app icons get messed up once in a while. Like the app for remote will change to the icon for pandora, and vice versa. Some just get greyed out. One icon morphed into parts of two other icons.
The only solution I've found is to delete the app, hard restart the phone, then re-install. A real pain in the a$s.

I can confirm I'm having the same problems (and yours is the first solution I've seen for it). I'm on a 3GS as well.

I don't see my Spotlight issue listed. I just downloaded 3.0 and tried Spotlight. When I enter a word or name, all "hits" are not being listed. It seems that only the most current ones are appearing. My settings are to include everything. Does anyone know, please, why I am not getting everything? I called Aplle Care but they couldn't help. This is the main reason I upgraded.
And, for Notes to Sync on a Mac, one needs 10.5.1 which I didn't know. i have Tiger, not Leopard. I am very unhappy about this.

They go to the Mail progam on the Mac. However, you have to have 10.5. something- Leopard. This should have been advertised.

Important:
It seems as though Push Notification is now fully live on Apple Servers.
For a list of applications from the App Store that support Push Notifications, please visit the Mac Rumors section of the forums.
P.S.- There have been many users reporting that AIM Free/ Paid is not sending Push Notifications all the time or correctly. AIM is aware of this issue and should be working on a fix for this issue.

biggest hassle with OS v3.0 is fault in Safari!
Safari all of a sudden doesn't distinguish between different media files!! if you try play/download an MP3 it tries to play/download it as a movie!! and then it hangs...this to me is a biggy, then I see that Google maps hasn't got street view...although that may be cos I'm in South Africa and its not supported, not sure??

A message to all users having problems with 3.0:
I had to restore my iPod touch today becuase of an issue no due to 3.0. After restoring my device to 3.0, I have noticed that it is running muh faster and has many less bugs. You should at least think about restoring your device to fix some issues
I have added a few problems of my own to the original post.🙂
However....
I tried restoring the touch and then loading the back up - this just seems to bring back whatever files are corrupted so you are back to problems.
The only restore I found to work is where basically go back to factory settings and then set up the touch as if it were new. Dont use your backed up files.
this of course is a real pain as I had stuff on my touch from a previous computer which of course is now gone!

It was just unusable and I've ended up having to revert back to 2.2.1.
On the upside, they've refunded the money I paid for 3.0.
I hope the issues are fixed soon.

Volume Controls doesn't fade in again ! They stay disappeared ! Only a Restart brings them back.
That`s just how it started, getting worse and worse. First it was like written above. Meanwhile I lost my whole WiFi functionality, said my touch can't connect to my wlan anymore. my wlan is unchanged since. every other device uses it. just the touch can't connect and doesn't tell my why. The reset of the network as described above is made twice but doesn't change anything. I already restored my touch in itunes with the last backup. The same - Can't connect. The WiFi is there, he recognizes my wlan, but can not connect and doesn't even asks me for the password - the next site with all the ip adress and so just stays empty.....
(Router is Dlink-524 if important)
Mail problem from 3.0
I updated my ipod touch 1g with the 3.0 software. Now whenever I go to my mail it is on for a few seconds but then goes back to the home screen??
I tried rebooting but that didn't help.
Please let me know if there is something that is can do.

Wi-Fi has certainly been an issue. Can you try to restore your iPod as a new device. This should help

Has anyone else noticed that the auto-brightness feature is much more 'responisive' , it seems to change the brightness much more freqently ?😕 I think this is a positive point, but meaby this is one of the factors that causes shorter battery life ?
