I have just dropped into the 'Site & Forum Feedback' section to report this precise matter; in my case, the desktop version of the site barely fits (actually it spills over the edges of) my 13" MBA screen……..

Hm.. Thanks for starting a thread - I wasn't even sure quite what terms to use to describe what I noticed had happened.

I'm on my 27" iMac right now and its doing the same when viewing threads.

I'm assuming Arn is doing some work on the site right now and this will be cleared up soon.

Thanks a lot; I'll leave it in your more than capable hands then; I merely wished to flag that this was happening, and was more than delighted to find that a thread had already been started to draw attention to the matter.

Back to coffee, and reading current affairs online…...

Looks like the width just reverted back to what it was like before, at least for me.

It shouldn't be. What's the error?

arn

Arn, this is the error I've been constantly getting. It only happens with Safari and it just started like 3 days ago. It may have nothing to do with the site, but I thought it could be helpful. Same error on iOS. It just randomly happens and I have to quit Safari and wait or use another browser. I wonder if it has something to do with Safari 7.1.

I've run into that one too.

That's a server issue. Server too busy. But shouldn't be happening often at this point

I still cant run this site on Safari. The zoom is all screwed up and if I click on the home page for MacRumors all I see is a blank page in Safari.

It runs fine on Chrome. This started when I updated to 7.1. Don't know what's going on but I'm only using Chrome now until they get this fixed.

Never had this issue before.

Zoombysite DOES NOT work on Macrumors anymore. The zoom always reverts back to normal for some reason...anyone found a fix yet??

Zoom by Site seems to be broken in Safari 7.1. All websites reload at 100% zoom.

It is fixed. Works perfectly well at the moment.

The ONLY exclusion is MacRumors website.

Btw, any competent person, would care answering why the problem raised in this thread is not solved since September, 2014?

Because we don't control Zoom by Site. Did you contact the developer?

Thank you for answering. I guess the thread gives a more complex picture about the problem.

The size of the Forum causes problems for many users, thus they tried to solve it with ZoomBySite, but it does not work. I have to mention that up to this moment (in my experience) it is the only site (and Forum) that is "incompatible" with the Safari extension in question.

Yes, I have been in contact with Ceri Morgan, the developer. And not because of this issue, but I mentioned it to him.

I contacted the developer as well, and he gave us some insight that it might be our verison of JQuery. I've fwd'd to my dev to see about upgrading it.
