I would think that you are - yeah there's hype, but ANYONE who joins a line that early is going to get one for sure. You could probably wait until the afternoon still and be fine.
After this post, I'm pretty sure I'm going to the store to buy some strawberry fruit roll ups right now.
Depending on the day of the release in the UK I might line up.. I am so torn between 4gb and 8gb, I can just get to half way with my 4gb nano but I would have all my video podcasts and movies... Ah. 8GB it is then.
I did the locator and was curious what the difference was for those stores with a red pin versus those stores with the blue pin. Are the phones only available at the red pins stores, there was only 1 of those in my area, which looks like the only one that is a corporate store, or is it the other way around.
I also noticed that the rate plan on the cingular page is slightly different then the rate plan on the apple page. The Family plan for 700 minutes is listed as Unlimited Nights and Weekends on the apple page, but 5000 minutes on the Cingular/AT&T site. Not a big deal, but a discrepancy.
The one per person sucks as my wife was going to get mine and hers as I'll be on a flight at 6. I guess we'll have to move to an Apple store and hope they don't have a limit. This is consistent with earlier posts that said Apple stores are going to be getting more then the ATT stores.

Thank seems pretty accurate IMO. That whole 3 million unit number was pulled out of someone's _thin air_ IMO.
i have two at&t stores within 10 miles of m e that will actually be carrying the iphone. i may need ti get up early friday. they said they could get anywhere from 12-25 iphones, according to one sales rep. he may not know, though.
That's on par with what my local at&t store said here in CT. He figures they will only get around 30. Of course take it with a grain of salt, they probably don't know what they're talking about. Or maybe they don't want to deal with a ton of people waiting for this thing so they're underestimating to scare them away, LoL. It worked for me anyway, I'm passing them up and waiting at the apple store in my mall.
I didn't see a filter for iPhone. Just clicked on their link to locate iPhone and it came up with all stores in my area, but I don't think they are all corporate stores. I just tried again and the site is down for maintenance.
1000 dosn't seem like a lot for the big apple stores, I think with all of this hype they will definately run out. I guess I will be in line early in the afternoon them maybe at 1:00? Also since my wife wants one she might have to wait in line with me since you can only buy one, oh well just 2 days left!!!!
You must choose a AT&T iPhone plan when you activate and they all contain the data package.
Man... I'm not going to be able to wait in line, I really hope they have an 8 gig left by the time I get there, probably around 7:00. I'm pretty worried.
One of you guys can have mine, i'll wait for version 2.0 with 16GB in 5 months, but I will enjoy the show on Friday Night. Good luck to everyone!
