The first iPhone campers have established their place in line at the New York City 5th Avenue Apple Store. Gizmodo has posted a brief video interview:

Meanwhile, we've heard that some Apple Stores have already started receiving iPhone shipments.

haha...he looks like Ron Jeremy! :D

What a dirty smelly guy. He's socks are stain ridden, and people actually left the store when he came in! If you are reading this, go home and take a shower please.

Call the Guy Waiting in Line!

So you dont have to wish he reads it... tell him yourself!

You can call the guy because he put his cell phone up on his blog!

There must be something else to this camping out thing that I don't get. For example, people did it for the Star Wars movies too. In reality that is even more stupid because you could easily just watch the movie a few hours later. So why trade several days of your life for seeing a movie a few hours earlier?

I see your point, but the difference here is that there is presumably a finite supply of iPhones once they go on sale -- unlike your example of going to a movie. So waiting in a long line for an iPhone may be the only way to get one (for a few days, at least). I guess that's the gamble.

You just know that Apple is gonna give him that iPhone for free. If nothing else to get him out of the store as quickly as possible so they don't have to deal with his 4 days of BO.

Any updates on the guys in line? The weather was AWFUL today in NYC -- so hot and muggy. I couldn't stand to be outside for more than a couple of minutes. And now there's thunderstorms coming....

wonder how many other people are waiting with him now? anyone nearby?
