looking tru cydia ldid = nothing there
tried even mobile terminal for 4.x (crashed)

you need to add any other repo that has the ldid program
go to cydia and enter

LDID in lower case

and you need to HIT SEARCH.

install taht program.

I used mobile terminal new to do all this inside the ipad.

Tested the alarm this morning after a reboot and worked like a charm.

i just added insanelyi repo and still no result on ldid.

search in cydia for "link identity editor". it's what i used. and if you simply type "ldid" and actually click "search" (don't just let the list narrow down), link identity editor is what shows up as the result.

zaxdude you rock

and "The Highlander"
i gotta say.
i didnt wanna believe it the first time.
but this is by far the best next to jailbreak and cydia.
apple should not have removed it from ipad 2.
theres no way to replace this stock clock/alarm with those clock/alarms that does not even stay more than 15 seconds (sleep mode)

I must say, all of that crap was confusing. But, through all of that, I was able to get the clock & calculator on the iPad. Every new Android tablet that comes out seems to have something better, but I can't quite let the iPad go. At least they could have given us all of the iPhone apps (except Phone) for the iPad. Apple should embrace developers instead of shutting them out. They keep the iPad at the top of the game, IMO. Now if someone could get the Frash plugin working again.

You need to set your cydia to DEV is settings to get it. I've followed it all but still when I choose Alarm it just crashes. Any thoughts?

Have you gotten all of the packages from Cydia? The set of instructions I read made it a little confusing, but I needed a package called gUICache. Plus, I had to download a software program for Windows since Mobile Terminal doesn't work. I was able to use that program to do command line promts & it hacked the iPad through the wifi system. After that, I had to run the gUICache & reboot. My Clock app works like it was a default program. Also, I didn't think of this until now, do you have a good copy of the clock app.ipa?

There was another post in a thread somewhere on Macforums where the user uploaded a video to youtube showing how it was done and he included a link to a site to download it. So I am using that one.

I followed the steps as shown on that site to the letter and it still just crashes when I choose the alarm option. Weird part is it doesn't crash on the other ones just the option I need/want the most :D

I'm running 4.3.3 on my iPad maybe that is an issue? I don't have a jailbroken iPhone to get the app from could you link me to the place you got your app ipa from?

Regards

EDIT: I started over and this time it worked.. Weird! Thanks for the help!

Alarm Clock RIO by ITG Studios via the app store.

No need to jailbreak. Alarm works even with the iPad in sleep mode and the smart cover on. Employs weather, battery percentage and flips from multiple colored led modes to old school HTC like clock mode. Swiping finger up and down on clock dims or brightens the display.

Best and onlyalarm clock I use on my iPad and iPhone, and both are jailbroken.

I don't see anything on the pepper repo

redid it and see it now

not sure what i'm doing wrong, i can get the apps on my ipad 2 (4.3.3) and they just crash everytime i launch them

i downloaded the rar and copied them to my applications folder with winscp, and the plists files to where they need to be, ran guicache, changed permissions to 755

Awesome, I will have to look into this. Don't know why some dev out there doesn't just copy the iphone clock app, it's exactly what a lot of people want.

I've been able to install Calculator, Weather, and the weather theme (to resize the icon for the ipad). The clock app causes the ipad to reboot into safe mode and will stay in safe mode until the clock app is removed. Cannot install the Stock app (dependency OS 4.3.3).

are you on 5.0.1?

Aight guys tech-guruz.co.uk is my website I have tested and it does not work on ios 5.0.1 now that we have a jailbreak I will have a look into seeing if I can get it working. I wasnt expecting it to work as the apps where all from 4.3.3 I could be as simple as getting the same apps from a 5.0.1 device but then again since when has apple ever made it that simple.

My mobile timer launches and then immediately closes. I'm using the 4.3 version though. Anyone have the 5.01 version?

as someone posted in another thread...there is one called Belfry in the BigBoss repo for 5.0.1 but seems it is a bit buggy and you can't pick and choose what you want...it installs 6 of the stock iPhone apps at once. i'm going to wait for a standalone clock app...hopefully someone will put one up.
