I don’t know, the price doesn’t bother me that much because it’s an iPhone+iPad mini in one, but the design does. The corners are too round.

I love how many people are trying to justify owning one...well, if I get rid my dog, send my kid to public school and sell my car, I can get one.

Yes, you can get rid of your phone and iPad. But, it's not the same. iPad screens are much bigger. This is just a larger toy..I mean phone. And, yes, if my wife allowed me to waste money, I'd get one and a Vision Pro.

To be honest, iPhones are too much these days. Apple has done a great job training us to spend more money. Let's see if mobile caries will give me one for free if I sell my soul to them for 5 years.

Thank you for stating the obvious. We all know that. Everyone's preference is different. If you don't understand it then that just means you prefer something else.

Unfortunately the IPhone Duo is the wrong shape! How can you fit a square thing like that in your trouser pocket? It should have been the same length and width as an iPhone Pro and opened up to twice the width. Then turned landscape for the extra screen size real estate. I’m sure it will be fine for a ladies handbag, but not for me!

I'm 52. I have two iPads, and they're both gathering dust. I have an iPhone 12. The newest device I have is my laptop. The first Apple I used was a ][+. I am not Apple's target market any more. They have rebranded themselves as a consumer electronics company and that's what they want to be... I remember people here who were mad that they dropped the "Computer" from their company name (to reflect this shift).

But I accept that the world doesn't revolve around the tastes of my generation any more. These are devices made for people 30 years younger than me or more. That's fine.

If I had no scruples, I'd be selling "devices" to those young people, too. But Apple isn't my company, and that's what I'm really on about... I don't mind that people want to buy this thing. I just can't stand the cult like rah rah nonsense of their "special events" and whatnot. Convincing ourselves that every new configuration of the iPhone is the second, third or twelfth coming of Christ is silly. No need to rationalize it to me. Just go buy your gadget.

Fits perfectly. I had the Galaxy Fold8…zero issue with pocketing it folded.

The form factor is awesome.

£1999 in the UK.

Current exchange rate: $1999 = £1475

As expected.
There is certainly a UK-related "fee", but after removing UK VAT, the Duo costs about £1,666. At today's exchange rate that's about $2,257, roughly 13% above the U.S. pre-tax price. Environmental and other regulations might add a few percent, which means the markup is likely closer to 10%.

It's also possible Apple builds currency risk into its regional pricing because of exchange swings, but without knowing Apple's internal exchange-rate assumptions, we can't say how much of that 10% is currency conversion protection or simply additional margin. We could safely say the UK has at least an 8% markup though.

LOL $3000 - 4800 CAD good luck with that. A smaller rich niche group continues to get smaller.

Another device to add to the list of foldables and iPhone Air I never see in public.

can it fit in my front pocket (not back pocket, because you sit on it and break it)? i wonder how much applecare will be on it. two screens, complexity.

Unless you need that amount of onboard storage the 256GB is ample for most.

It doesn’t have FaceID check the drop down menu
crap, I misunderstood. Hard pass. I have to constantly wash my hands for my job and my fingerprints don't read well on touch id. Anyone know if this is better than the touch id on the iphones?
