I've found the opposite to be true with fast (relative to edge speeds) speeds on the freeway. This is talking about the fives in southern California.
 
well i get about 80kb/110 on my t-mobile iphone in san diego..

what service are you guys using ATT or T-MOBILE?
 
Houston, TX: i have seen as low as 6k and as high as 224k on edge. wi-fi: 1600k

i tried to use edge last night at the astros game and it wouldn't even react. I had 5 bars of service. does that even matter? kind of funny cause AT&T is a big sponsor at the stadium. i then tried the public wi-fi and it was almost as bad. i just wanted to check some nba scores.

Can't wait for the 3g!
