Is there a source of some kind? Anyway...
*Waits for something official or PNS!*

We are overdue for an update of some sort.

I can't believe you guys argued over the send button so much....

What I would like from SMS from most to least important.

send contact numbers
individual timestamps
ability to cancel
ability to delete individual messages
ability to forward
extract/insert addresses (maybe can already extract them, but needs to be able to recognize more formats, because it never has worked for me)
landscape

That's all I can think of right now, but I'm sure I have more.

I think any update, even a minor one like this, is at least 6 weeks away. Reason is that this is the first anyone has heard of this, and every update since last June (when the App Store came out) has been preceded by at least two betas for software developers to test, with several weeks in between each beta. I've heard nothing about that already happening with 2.2.1.

This boring, useless update is certainly more believable than those grandiose talks of iChat and push notifications finally making an appearance.

I agree with all of what you say. The arguing was us trying to get our point across. As for your feature list, I would love to see each of these. I think everyone can agree that the SMS app could use an overhaul.

Tell me a single phone that offers a cancel button. It won't work because of the way SMS works. You can't cancel an email can you?

And I haven't proved that myself. Again, you are failing to read - I don't blame you if English isn't your first language though..

Yes I can cancel sending a email very well actually. Gotta love Apple's mail program. ANyway as a cancel button, I like it.

And as for canceling a email on the iPhone, the send button is much more further away for accidental sending, and if im even bothering to send an email, its usually important enough for me to review.
